State of the Program

Dear Friends,

Welcome to the first AAI foster/adopt newsletter! We want to let you know about how the program is doing as well as some recent changes.

Since AAI began placing foster children in 1999, this program has continued to grow and thrive. We have over 60 licensed foster homes and 24 children currently placed in a home. This year we have placed eight children with our licensed families and there are at least four more ready to join their new families in the next few weeks.

AAI has had the lowest fees for many years, but due to drastic changes in the state requirements, we have to raise fees to cover the cost of additional home visits and staff time. The state homestudy and licensing requirements have become much more comprehensive which requires more intensive review of all documentation. All families in this program have been notified of the new fee schedule and it can also be seen on our website.

We will keep you posted on the progress of the program with this monthly newsletter.  Feel free to contact Yvette NicholsKathy Sculley, or Gay Knutson in the AAI office with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

AAI Foster/Adopt Staff

Most of our families take placements of children from Washington, but there are lots of great kids available from other states, too! Northwest Adoption Exchange and A Family For Every Child are two great sites where you can find information on available children all across the country. If you are looking for an older child, here are a few children from A Family for Every Child website:
