This newsletter is a little late but it's good to be busy.   the Davis Hammerbeam trusses are being cut in the shop and are scheduled for delivery in the end of March.  The Monterey home and garden expo is this weekend, March 9 & 10.  American Barn & Wood will be there in space 35 in a booth we built from antique hand hewn oak timber.  There will be samples of antique wood and cabinet work by Allen's custom woodworking. Both businesses are located in our Paso Robles complex and we often collaborate on projects.

There are indications that the construction industry in picking up and one I have noticed  is the cost of building materials rising.  Material costs have not changed much in the past couple years until the last few months but now appear to be rising quickly.  Mills have kept prices down because of lack of demand but now they are able to be more profitable.  It's a good sign for the industry but a mixed blessing as it effects projects in the works that have already been bid. I think we are nearing the end of the stagnate market so if you are planning to build now may be the time.
