JANUARY 25TH: LEADING EXPERTS TO DISCUSS WORK IN A WARMING WORLD

International Panel: Green Work, Brown World: Labour & the Dilemma of Climate Change 

Leading labour environmentalists and academics, including Isabelle M�nard (right) who works with the Conf�d�ration des syndicats nationaux (CNS) in Qu�bec, will discuss the challenges and creative strategies for labour leadership on global warming as part of the Work in a Warming World (W3) panel discussion, "Green Work, Brown World: Labour and the Dilemma of Climate Change". The discussion will take place Friday, Jan. 25, from 5:30-7:30pm, in Alumni Hall at Victoria College, University of Toronto, 91 Charles St. W., Toronto. It is an initiative of the Work in a Warming World Research Program. The Panel is free, but registration is essential as seating is limited.To register and read more about the Panel, click here. 

JANUARY 29TH: INNOVATION IN EDUCATION AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT: THE UGANDA RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING PROGRAM

FEBRUARY 4TH: COP18 DEBRIEFING
Join us for an open discussion with YorkU's delegates from the United Nations Climate Change Conference

IRIS will be hosting a debriefing of COP-18 with York University delegate Idil Boran, Professor of Philosophy. Idil will share her experiences at this year's COP talks in Doha, Qatar.

FEB. 1ST: CROSS SECTOR COLLABORATION CONFERENCE
NMA Conference with Breakout Session featuring IRIS Projects
The Schulich Nonprofit Management Association is hosting the 2013 Cross Sector Collaboration Conference on Friday, February 1st. This conference will explore collaborative action across public, private and non-profit sectors to scale solutions capable of addressing persistent social challenges. Keynote sessions by James Temple (Director of Corporate Responsibility at PwC) and Ratna Omidvar (President of Maytree).Ellie Perkins and Clara Stewart-Robertson will be part of a breakout session that will feature York University collaborations with the Jane/Finch Community, that are also IRIS projects. This session will be moderated by IRIS Coordinator Annette Dubreuil. For more information, click here.
FEB. 8TH: NET IMPACT CONFERENCE - CAPITALISM 2.0

Join Net Impact and IRIS Senior Fellow, York Economist, and author Peter Victor for an exciting day of discussion & networking
Welcome to the world of Capitalism 2.0. On February 8, 2013, MBA students at the Schulich School of Business will join professionals from the private, non-profit and social sectors to discuss the future of business. Hosted by Schulich Net Impact, the conference will feature progressive industry leaders sharing their experiences on how we can best address the environmental, social, and financial challenges of the present and future, including IRIS Senior Fellow Peter Victor. The 2nd Annual Film Festival is all about Food!   

'Planet in Focus with York University Present: Focus on Sustainability Film Festival' - the annual event with its s

ophomore theme on food! This entertaining and educating experience features domestic and foreign documentaries, a panel discussion with filmmakers, foodies and academics, as well as prizes provided by Fresh Restaurant, MamaEarth Organics and Front Door Organics and more!

Please join us on Friday, March 1st, 2013 in the Nat Taylor Cinema (North Ross 102 at York University) from 9:00am to 4:30pm.
