Registration is now open for Food for Billions: Feeding Nine Billion People by 2050
The world population is projected to increase to nine billion people over the next 40 years, with experts predicting the demand for food to increase by as much as 70%. Other variables such as climate, competition for resources and concerns about health and wellness have led to high level discussions about the future of our food supply. The Food Innovation Center is uniquely positioned to bring this important discussion to the campus of the Ohio State University by hosting Food for Billions on September 12, 2013. "It is a critical conversation among industry partners and academics who want a healthier hunger free world." says FIC Director Ken Lee. "This goes far beyond better yields-- we need the best innovations from all disciplines, from social science, art, humanities, medicine, agriculture and engineering to create the cultural foundation for a prosperous food future."
Please join us for this important conversation by registering to attend Food for Billions. FIC members can take advantage of a discounted rate by using discount code OSUFIC. Hope to see you there.

Food for Billions Panelist: Bob Aiken, CEO of Feeding America
Bob Aiken serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Feeding America, the nation's leading domestic hunger-relief organization and fourth largest charity according to Forbes. Through a network of more than 200 food banks and 61,000 local food pantries, kitchens and emergency shelters, Feeding America provides more than 3 billion pounds of food and grocery items to 37 million people each year. Prior to his role at Feeding America, Aiken served as CEO of Bolder Foods, a company founded to invest in specialty, ethnic, and natural food companies. He also served as CEO of U.S. Foodservice, one of the nation's leading food distribution companies.
Join the Food Innovation Center at Food for Billions, as Aiken engages with four other distinguished panelists as they address the question: How do we provide access to culturally acceptable, healthy, nutritionally replete and accessible foods for all world citizens? Aiken will also co-facilitate a smaller group discussion around issues of hunger and poverty with Food Innovation Center Director Steve Clinton. Learn more about and register for Food for Billions.
