From the Desk of Mayor Daniel L. Bell
November  2015
City of Taylor Mill

As you may recall the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, located in Frankfort, KY  has been working to evaluate continued requests for the installation of traffic signals along Pride Parkway in various locations.  The conclusion of the engineering analysis should be available in the near future and we anticipate knowing shortly if any additional traffic signals will be permitted to be installed along the corridor within the Taylor Mill city limits.  Additionally, we are awaiting final decisions on the reduction of speed limits on state roadways within the community also.  We look forward to being able to share with you the information when available for release.    As always please drive safely and be aware of your surroundings including other motor vehicles and all pedestrians.

We are also pleased to announce our sidewalk construction project along Taylor Mill Road is continuing to move forward.  The project, which is being funded though a combination of state and federal funds, is nearing design completion and will move on to the necessary reporting process prior to construction.  Funding for the project which was allocated in 2013 and is not available until construction season 2016 is a slow effort but certainly a worthwhile cause that will provide the community with much needed pedestrian access. The parameters of the construction project is still a work in progress but we hope to extend the sidewalks north to the Districts of Taylor Mill.

Congratulations to the Scott High School and the Woodland Middle School Football Teams.  Both groups did an outstanding job and had a successful football season.  We are so proud to have you represent the community as a whole in your achievements.  We are so proud of your hard work and dedication!

As we celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope that each of you are able to count your many blessings and acknowledge the presence of family and friends that surround you.  On behalf of the Taylor Mill City Commission and Staff we wish you a safe and happy holiday season.

It is a pleasure to serve as your Mayor.  We have a great community, state, and country for which we all can be very thankful and proud of.  Happy Thanksgiving!

Warmest Regards,

Daniel L. Bell, Mayor
