Assistant City Clerk/Special Events Coordinator



The City of Taylor Mill, KY, is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated and experienced individual for the position of full-time Assistant City Clerk/Special Events Coordinator. The position reports directly to the City Administrator and the Assistant to the CAO and is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the Administration Department, implementing and overseeing Special Community Events and Programming, and rendering high quality service to our residents.


The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, as well as strong organizational, mathematical, leadership skills and excellent customer service abilities. He or she must also possess excellent writing skills and be proficient in various technology to create word processing documents, databases and spreadsheets, perform website maintenance, maintain social networking outlets, operate various office equipment, and be able to bend, lift and move items in excess of 25 pounds. This individual will also be responsible for duties including, but not limited to, attending and preparing minutes for all meetings of the City Commission and Board of Adjustments; Codification of Ordinances; records retention; interpreting City Ordinances and State Statutes; serve as the City Tax Collector; filing; payroll processing; CERS reporting; processing passports; preparing deposits; assisting in bank reconciliations; secretarial support to the CAO; oversee committee budgets; facilitate and manage Recreation Fundraising & Events such as Movies in the Park, Annual Easter Egg Hunt, Park Fest, etc; and facilitate and manage the TWT Senior Citizen Group.


The successful candidate should possess a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in business, accounting, political science, public administration or another closely related field, supplemented by previous comparative work experience. Must be able to obtain a CMC certificate, Notary Public, NIMS/ICS Certificates, and Passport Acceptance Agent Certification, hold a valid driver's license, and be bondable.


Entry Annual Salary: $39,805.05 plus excellent benefit package.
