It is sure to be a delightful event for the whole family!

Greetings!

As a result of all the ongoing construction, The City of Taylor Mill and the Taylor Mill BP Gas Station have partnered together to offer residents of Taylor Mill a discounted car wash to help your vehicle stay sparkly clean. Save $2.00 off each car wash with proof of residency. Purchase your discount code inside their convenience store at the cash register.  A special thanks to Jeremy Deters and our friends at BP for offering our residents this special discount.

Additionally, I'd like to take a few minutes and reflect upon the upcoming holiday.  Thanksgiving is a day to count the blessings in your life.  It is a time to acknowledge the presence of family and the people around you.  On this day the entire Taylor Mill City Commission and Staff would like to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving to all our Taylor Mill friends and family.  It is a pleasure to serve as your Mayor.  We have a great community and all of us, in addition to our many blessings, should be thankful for our country, our state, and our city.

Warmest Regards,

Daniel L. Bell, Mayor

City of Taylor Mill

                         Taylor Mill Fire Department

The Taylor Mill Fire/EMS Department is concerned about the safety and welfare of you, your family, and your friends.  With the winter months upon us here are a few tips to keep everyone, including your home, safe:

*Never run a gas or propane heater in your home unless it meets the safety requirements identified by the manufacture.  Inappropriate use of these devices are a leading cause of death across the country.

*When using candles make sure you use a solid base and keep flammable products away from them.  Never leave candles unattended or lit when you are not at home or asleep.

*If you have and use a fireplace get an annual chimney inspection by a licensed sweep company.

*Generators are extremely helpful when your power fails, but remember to run generators outside with the proper extension cords.  Never tie one into your fuse box with a power cord unless you have the proper switching device and the work is performed by a licensed electrician.

*Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors are the most important items to have in your home please make sure to test them regularly and replace the batteries at least twice a year.  In the event you cannot change your batteries and need assistance contact your local firehouse at 859.581.6565.  Someone on our staff will be happy to assist you.

  Taylor Mill Maintenance Department

Well winter is almost here and snow is on the horizon!  As a result, the Taylor Mill Maintenance Department is ready to clear our roadways of snow and ice accumulation when called upon.  Currently, we have 300 tons of salt and multiple outfitted trucks on hand to assist in our response.

We would like to remind residents that in the event a snow emergency is declared on street parking in prohibited.  This is necessary to help us adequately treat the roadways.  It also helps insure the safety of your vehicle and the safety of our drivers and their equipment also.

Please remember if you are shoveling your driveway to please shovel snow to the right side of the drive so our equipment doesn't come through and unearth all your hard work.

Most importantly in heavy snow events please be patient and stay off the roadways if at all possible.  The heavier the traffic the harder it is for our crews to respond.  Unfortunately, if you are stuck in traffic during heavy snow falls, so are our crews!

For more information about inclement weather response please contact our Maintenance Department at 859.581.3359.

Taylor Mill Police Department

In police related news, during this year's budget cycle the Taylor Mill City Commission authorized the purchase of two (2) new vehicles for use by the police department.  One of the vehicles will be a dodge charger and the other a Ford Explorer Interceptor.  The new Ford is an intermediate all wheel drive SUV, powered by a V6 engine.  This smaller SUV will eventually replace our V8 engine Expedition providing the same traction we need but with better fuel efficiency.  Both vehicles should be on the road and in service in the near future.
