A Personal Tribute to Elie Wiesel
 
With the passing of Elie Wiesel, the University of Haifa, theState of Israel and humanity as a whole have lost a wonderful soul.  His spirit and profound belief in the goodness of mankind are priceless assets that attest to what is blessed about this world.

5,147 NEW GRADUATES 
The University awarded more than 5,000 diplomas in 2016 -- 2,239 BAs, 2,768 Master's degrees and 140 PhDs in multiple ceremonies.

Ruderman Program Students Absorb 
American Jewish Culture in NYC  
The 25 members of the Ruderman Program for American Jewish Studies International MA class from the University enjoy a cruise in New York harbor as part of their 10-day visit to the U.S. in June. The purpose? To get know more about American Jewish culture and history.  Check out their itinerary.
OLD ROMAN GATE DISCOVERED
A monumental Roman gate was discovered by the University of Haifa excavation team pictured above at Hippos, overlooking the Sea of Galilee. It may cast light on the bronze mask of Pan -- the only object of its kind found anywhere in the world -- that was discovered at the same site during last year's excavations.
