Ten Community Renewal Lessons
Here's a short audio recording of Toronto City Councillor Joe Mihevc sharing a set of lessons learned from helping shape, promote and implement two controversial renewal projects in Ward 21, St. Paul's West: The St. Clair Avenue street car right of way and the adaptive reuse of Wychwood Barns. In both cases, these projects triumphed over fierce resistance to deliver significant economic and social value to the community at large. Mihevc's pragmatic advice - which is offered in an energetic and humorous manner - is readily transferable to Hamilton. Our thanks to the Chamber's Renew Hamilton project for providing this unique recording captured at the national Transforming & Revitalizing Downtown Summit in June 2014. CLICK HERE to listen
