McMaster Students Champion Change
Progressive city building was a hot topic at last night's Change Camp hosted by the Student Community Support Network, an outreach op eration of the McMaster Students Union. The event - held at Hamilton City Hall - drew a broad cross section of people keen to help advance university-community relations in the context of people, planet and profits. Chamber team members participated in a discussion group focused on downtown renewal. "I was impressed by students' deep understanding of the topic and commitment to the future of our downtown," recalled Richard Allen, director of the Chamber's Renew Hamilton Project. "Their ideas ranged from expanding McMaster's downtown presence to a greater role in signature events like Supercrawl." Change Camp spokesperson Nashwa Khan (pictured) said that a summary report with next steps will be available shortly. Great news for Chamber members interested in engaging and retaining highly educated next generation talent.
