Nominations will be accepted until December 31, 2013, with winners being announced at the Hamilton Community Awards dinner on January 21, 2014 at Liuna Station.
The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome Kent Austin, Ti-Cat Head Coach and General Manager, as our guest speaker for the evening.

Nominations for The Hamilton Spectator Youth Volunteer of the Year are open to individuals ages 19 and under (as of December 31, 2013) and who have taken on volunteer leadership roles.
The nomination form, available at hamiltonchamber.ca, is asking potential nominators:

2) Do you know someone who works tirelessly for their community?
3) What Hamiltonian, in your estimation, made the most impact on this community in 2013?
A panel of distinguished citizens will use independent research, along with the support letters provided by the nominators, to reach its decision.

Renewal Studies Seek Public Input
Three interrelated urban renewal studies that explore land use options for a large swath of downtown Hamilton are now underway. Study teams operating under the City of Hamilton are seeking public input on three areas of significance: James Street North Mobility Hub, Barton-Tiffany and Barton from James to Kenilworth Avenue. Combined, this historic geography is rich in assets - a thriving arts district, commercial corridors and access to the waterfront, to name a few - and embedded with complex challenges, including pockets of poverty and degraded infrastructure. In short, it's a part of our city ripe for rehabilitation. What's the recipe for regeneration that honours the past while unlocking future economic opportunities? CLICK HERE to learn more and contribute. The Chamber's Renew Hamilton project thanks study organizers for the invitation to support this important design initiative. The accompanying photo was snapped during last week's public consultation event at LIUNA Station.
