Audio recordings of sample presentations given at last month's Renew Hamilton Learning Forum are now available online.  Recent additions include a thought provoking talk by local architect Bill Curran that offers 20 ideas - large and small - to help advance quality architecture and urban design in Hamilton.  "It's essential to think about what's next given the momentum we're experiencing in Hamilton," says Curran, emphasizing the importance of citizen engagement in community building.

Steeped Tea

Steeped Tea is the leading North American Direct Seller of loose leaf tea. The company provides women and men from all over North America the opportunity to start their own business and to generate an income by selling Steeped Tea products directly to consumers.

Steeped Tea's motto is "It's who you share it with" and consultants follow this same philosophy; it is all about getting friends and family together to enjoy a cup of tea. Steeped Tea Consultants offer an at-home tea party experience. Consultants are supplied with business kits and bring teas for brewing and tasting. Attendees can then purchase any teas or accessories they want from the catalog. Consultants also have a virtual Shopping Cart in which non-attendee customers can purchase from.

Steeped Tea is a proud member of the Direct Seller's Association in Canada and adheres to a strict code of ethics and standards to ensure consumer safety and protection. The company is also a member of the Canadian Tea Association and is recognized as a significant distributor of tea in Canada.

Steeped Tea was founded in 2006 by Tonia Jahshan in an attempt to spend more time with her growing family and still earn an income. Today it has blossomed to over 2,000 consultants across Canada and 125 consultants in the US, generating over $6 million in yearly sales of loose tea and accessories. Tonia Jahshan ranked #15 on the 15th annual W100 ranking of Canada's Top Female Entrepreneurs, produced by PROFIT Magazine and Chatelaine. Steeped Tea also ranked #27 on the 25th annual PROFIT 500 of Canada's Fastest-Growing Companies. The company was also named Industry Leader in Food Processing and Distribution Sector with a growth of 1,877%.

Five out of six North Americans drink tea and the popularity is continually rising. Steeped Tea carries an extensive product line with over eighty custom-blended teas to appease the North American pallet and the health conscious consumer. The company strives to re-imagine tea for a diversified consumer by offering tea-based rubs, dips, baking mixes, beauty products and accessories. All Steeped Tea products are showcased in yearly catalogues and seasonal inserts.
