Sustainable mobility in spotlightThe Chamber, through its Hamilton HIVE initiative and in partnership with the City of Hamilton, today convened a community workshop focused on advancing sustainable mobility infrastructure in Hamilton. It's part of larger efforts to ensure that Hamilton is a community of choice as our broader region continues to change and grow. "The movement of businesses and families into our city is happening now and it will only increase with time," said City Manager Chris Murray in his opening remarks. "It's now a question of offering a quality of life that attracts and retains people." Sustainable mobility - that incorporates pedestrians, cyclists, public transit and cars - is critical to Hamilton's future measured by jobs and prosperity in a knowledge economy. The workshop, which attracted more than 50 city staff and a cross section of community stakeholders, was facilitated by Gil Penalosa of 8-80 Cities. Outcomes and next steps will be made available through the Chamber in the coming days. |

The free events offered by the Hamilton Waterfront Trust help to enrich people's experiences at the Harbour and encourage learning about the wildlife. The Fishing Derby will enrich the experiences for all those who participate.
The HWT is looking for donations, sponsorships and participants to make the 2013 Fishing Derby a success once again. Please click herefor sponsorship information. Your support would be appreciated!
