How to help in Alberta and Quebec through Chambers of Commerce

Our thoughts this month are with those who have been impacted by flooding in Alberta. Heavy rains have brought extensive flooding across the province, impacting multiple communities and forcing thousands of people from their homes.  The Alberta Chambers of Commerce has set up a fund to help chambers in need. This fund will help local chambers stay open and support them as they serve their communities.

The Ontario Chamber of Commerce has made a contribution to this fund. If you would like to make a contribution, cheques (made out to Chamber Relief Trust) can be sent to the attention of Ken Kobly, c/o the Alberta Chambers of Commerce; or you can send electronic funds transfers to Ken Kobly.

*****

We have all seen the images over the weekend of the tragedy that unfolds in Lac-Mgantic, Qubec.

The effects of the devastation to this community will be felt for a long while. Our member, the provincial chamber in Quebec (the FCCQ) has asked the Canadian Chamber of Commerce to reach out to its members with a message regarding the local chamber and the community of Lac-Mgantic and how you might be able to help.
