Tourism Hamilton Public Open House
Hamilton citizens are invited to a Public Open House and facilitated session to inform and engage about the Downtown Hamilton Built Heritage Inventory Study. The Open House and facilitated session will be held at LIUNA Station, 360 James St. North, Hamilton on June 27 and take place from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The facilitated session will follow from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
As many may be aware, council directed staff to complete a pilot study of inventoried properties in the downtown and update the existing Inventory of Buildings of Architectural and or Historical Interest. Working with ERA Architects, phase two of the project is underway; developing a methodology to evaluate the approximately 800 properties based on the Regulation 9/06 of the Ontario Heritage Act.
In the context of this direction, the open house will provide citizens with the opportunity to learn more about the Downtown Built Heritage Inventory Project, the Ontario Heritage Act and the municipal designation process. Tourism encourages all to participate in the evening facilitated session which will include an opportunity to share ideas about built heritage and the value Hamiltonians place on heritage and conservation.
For more information contact the project manager by email sonia.mrva@hamilton.ca or phone 905-546-2424 ext. 4123.
