This year the 6th Annual Hamilton Economic Summit is shaping up to be another must-attend business event in the Greater Hamilton Area.

The Government of Ontario is looking for nominations for 2 awards:

The Lincoln M. Alexander Award 2013 - The Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration is seeking nominations for young Ontarians who have demonstrated exemplary leadership in contributing to the elimination of racial discrimination.

2013 Senior Achievement Award - The Minister Responsible for Seniors

Renew Hamilton Video Case Studies Logo

Renew Hamilton - an initiative of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce - invites the community to attend the premiere screening of five video case studies that document the regeneration of downtown Hamilton and adjacent neighbourhoods.  The videos and discussion will help answer the question: "What's behind the investment buzz in the core?"  7 pm on April 16 at the Art Gallery of Hamilton. $10/person with complimentary appetizers and cash bar.  Sponsored by the Art Gallery of Hamilton,  City of Hamilton and Urbanicity.

LiON'S LAIR seeking proposals     

 

Innovation Factory and the Hamilton Chamber are once again collaborating to host the third annual LiON's LAIR, presented by KPMG.  Submissions for the competition will be accepted from March 26 to April 30, 2013.  Visit pitch-it.ca in the coming weeks for more information about LiON'S LAIR.  Mark your calendar for October 10, 2013 when the gala event will be held where the winners will be unveiled.

Join up for the 12th Annual Hummingbird Ball!

 

Join up on May 11 at Carnevale Venice, the 2013 Hummingbird Ball as we celebrate the history and culture of the magical and mysterious Carnevale.

Honourees for the 2013 Hummingbird Ball include: Dr. Bill Evans, President Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre, Joelle Goddard-Cooling and SC Johnson.

Fundraising proceeds from the Ball and raffle support the Hematology Inpatient and Bone Marrow Transplant Unit.

Masks required, costumes or black tie. A limited number of authentic Italian-made masks are available for purchase.

Adult Basic Education Association -  30k On My Feet Not My Seat


Help us celebrate 30 years as we support and encourage adults!

In June 2013 we are celebrating our 30th anniversary. To recognize this our Executive Director, Leah Morris has made a commitment to complete 30k "on her feet, not her seat" on May 10, 2013 (rain date May 17). This one-day event will begin on the mountain and continue past all of the Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS) agencies in Hamilton.
