Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation Annual Research Gala presents "A Night on Broadway"
Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation's Annual Research Gala will be held March 2, 2013 at the Hamilton Convention Centre.
This year's fundraising gala has guests stepping into the theatre for "A Night on Broadway" where they will enjoy live performances by Steven Page, formerly of the Barenaked Ladies, other theatrical guests, and by request, a return of the Montreal Rhapsody Orchestra.
While raising funds in support of medical research at Hamilton Health Sciences, the evening will pay tribute to Dr. John G. Kelton, Dean and Vice-President, Faculty of Health Sciences, McMaster University. In addition to being an award-winning scientist, professor and a practicing hematologist at Hamilton Health Sciences, Dr. Kelton has been responsible for the tremendous growth of the Faculty of Health Sciences. Since becoming dean and vice-president of the Faculty and dean of the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine at McMaster University in 2001, enrolment has more than doubled, and now exceeds 5,000 students.
The Faculty includes undergraduate and post-graduate programs in schools of nursing, medicine and rehabilitation science, as well as programs for midwifery, physician assistant and health sciences.
Hamilton Health Sciences is one of the world's leading research hospitals. Funds raised through the annual Gala, including its raffle, will help enable life-altering health care research that impacts people across the region, Canada and around the world.
