The AIC Congress is held every four years, and is the only colour conference in the world that promotes all facets of colour. Since the first congress in Stockholm, Sweden in 1969, the congress has been hosted at locations all over the world including Monaco, the USA, Germany, Japan, and the last AIC congress in 2009, held in Sydney, Australia.
The congress provides a unique forum bringing together colour practitioners, researchers, academics, designers, lighting experts and business leaders from all over the world in the aim of sharing ideas, interacting and learning of recent advances in their field of expertise.
The AIC has objectives to encourage research in all aspects of colour, to disseminate knowledge gained from this research and promote its application to the solution of problems within the fields of science, art, design and industry.

The Palette
Volume 2, 2013
|
Dear ,
The first quarter of 2013 was a busy time for the Lovibond® team with attendance at ARABLAB, Interlab TEC and Pittcon. Each event proved interesting for different reasons. The event in Dubai always gives us the opportunity to catch up with Lovibond® users farther afield; Pittcon always attracts visitors from North and South America while Interlab TEC was focused primarily on the food industry.
If you didn't manage to catch us at one of these exhibitions, there are more opportunities coming up. Read on to learn about where we'll be over the next couple of months.

Lovibond® LC 100 Steals the Shows
The three events we attended this year proved, without a doubt, that the LC 100 has a fan base. This compact, hand-held imaging spectrophotometer caught the eye of all attendees looking to enter the world of colour measurement.
The versatility of this new range means the same instrument can be used for foods, powders and pastes - enabling easy colour measurement throughout the manufacturing process chain, from ingredients to supply. For customers unused to the huge spectrum of colour scales, it also provides an entry level instrument where customers can define their own standards - eliminating the need to determine scale awareness with their suppliers.
Introduced at the end of last year, the LC 100 / SV 100 is fast becoming one of the most popular Lovibond® products.

Colour Communications Guide
The team here never relaxes on its laurels but continuously tries to improve the understanding of colour. Indeed, it is our mission to educate everyone on the importance of colour communication.
To that extent we have, yet again, enhanced the popular A5 booklet to include details on Colour Consistency, Accuracy of Measurements, Correct Record Keeping and Metamerism.
The updated guide is available now to download from the Lovibond® Colour Website. Alternatively, to request your very own hard copy, please email us with your details and we'll be sure to get one sent to you with no further delay. And please feel free to ask for a couple of copies to share with your colleagues.

104th AOCS Annual Meeting & Expo
The AOCS celebrates its 104th anniversary this year from 28 April - 1 May, in Montreal, Canada.
This Annual Meeting & Expo is the premier global science and business forum on fats, oils, surfactants, lipids and related materials. This 4-day event provides an excellent forum to learn from the industry leaders about the technical developments in the industry.
The concurrent expo, showcasing over 75 companies is ideal for networking opportunities with peers and technologists. If you are able to attend, be sure to visit the Lovibond® Team at Stand No 611.
We've been doing quite a bit of research recently into the accurate colour measurement of Palm Oil that we would be happy to discuss. Further details on this will also be forthcoming in the next edition of The Palette.
