Local organization serves as collection site Bayfield Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Bureau The Bayfield Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Bureau is inviting residents to drop off new or gently used coats, sweaters, hats, mittens and other warm clothing items as part of the Wisconsin Department of Tourism's "The Big Bundle Up" campaign. "The Big Bundle Up" is a statewide collection program running Nov. 18, 2013 - Jan. 4, 2014. This is the third year of the program. Last year's program collected more than 17,000 winter items to help warm up families in need. In addition to the Bayfield Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Bureau, other collection sites are located throughout the state. Visit TravelWisconsin.com for a full listing of donation sites. With the spirit of the holiday season upon us, donating winter items is the perfect way to give back. A box is located at the Bayfield Chamber Visitor Center, 42 S. Broad St., Bayfield, for donors to drop off warm clothing items. All items donated at this location will be given to Bayfield and Red Cliff Family Forum Head Starts and the Bayfield School District. In 2012, Bayfield community and Chamber members donated 159 warm winter clothing items to "The Big Bundle Up" campaign. In addition to collecting winter gear for those in need, the Bayfield Chamber is once again a drop-off location for the Bayfield Area Food Pantry. Donors can drop off food items 24 hours a day as the Chamber's Visitor Center remains open all hours throughout the year. Bremer Bank (Bayfield), Bayfield City Hall, ENCORE Resale Store, and CORE Community Resources also accept donations. The Bayfield Area Food Pantry is located on the back side of Bates Art Bar. Monetary donations can be mailed directly to P.O. Box 729, Bayfield, WI, 54814.
