Bayfield Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Bureau hires new Marketing and Events Manager

The Bayfield Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Bureau has hired Kelley Linehan as the organization's new Marketing and Events Manager.

Linehan will step into the position held by Erin Johnson since 2010. Johnson will stay on with the Chamber part-time as the Marketing and Events Assistant.

Kelley Linehan Linehan has strong ties to the Bayfield area. She grew up in Wausau, Wisconsin, and in her youth spent every summer vacationing in Bayfield with her family. This history lends Linehan a unique knowledge of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, Madeline Island and the Bayfield area. She and her husband, Jason, both attended Northland College and have always wanted to move back to the Chequamegon Bay region. Bayfield Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, David Eades, states, "Kelley's expertise and skills are a perfect match for us. We are lucky to have her join our team."

Linehan has lived and worked in Milwaukee for the last 9 years. She brings a strong background in marketing and event planning to the organization, having most recently worked for GMR, a global marketing company. Her responsibilities included the planning and implementation of marketing and event projects for clients such as HP, Humana, and MillerCoors. Prior to GMR, Linehan worked for Company B in Milwaukee, managing social media and marketing efforts for the Iron Horse Hotel, and at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, overseeing the Studio Arts and Crafts Centre on campus. Some of her favorite professional projects have included the design of the 2013 Sundance House at the Sundance Film Festival, and the Canadian Football League Grey Cup 100 Tour in 2012.

"Having spent the last few years on a corporate track, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve the Bayfield area," Linehan says. "This is a place that is very dear to my heart and I am eager to put my skills to use in a way that will benefit and maintain the distinct character that defines the region."

Linehan is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design, with an emphasis on communications. She is also an associate lecturer at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, currently teaching an online graphic design course.

The Bayfield Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Bureau is an economic development organization that actively supports and promotes a healthy and vibrant business climate in the Chequamegon Bay region, currently serving approximately 400 members. The Chamber promotes the unique natural beauty, cultural heritage, and recreational opportunity within the Bayfield area, attracting visitors through marketing and destination development.

Kelley Linehan can be reached at [email protected] or (715) 779-3335.
