Resources on Campus: Center for Student Success
The friendly staff in the Center for Student Success will provide you with the necessary support needed to succeed on campus. The Center, located in the Hoover-Price Campus Center, is comprised of the following three offices:
  • Office of Students in Academic Transition: Marci Muckleroy, coordinator of students in academic transition, will be ready to help you! She specializes in helping students identify academic interests in order to determine the right major, learn about related careers and decide on the best major for their goals. Marci also advises our transfer students and is willing to work with first year students who have not decided on a major!
  • Office of Academic Support offers a variety of support services to help students manage their course work, improve their study and time management skills and succeed in challenging classes. They provide individual academic counseling, coordinate the free academic tutors available to all students, and train student success mentors who will also work one-on-one with their peers who might need additional support. This office also works with students who have been admitted conditionally with a requirement to schedule regular meetings throughout the Fall 2015 semester. Craig Theissen, director of academic support, is available for appointments at our Preview programs as needed.
  • Office of Career Development: Can you envision the time when you'll be ready for internships, a job, or graduate school? Sara Fugett, director of career development, helps guide students in the development of a personal career strategy that includes identifying major-related career fields, securing internships, building job search strategies and targeting career leads. Career Development offers a variety of services including resume review, mock interviews, on-campus recruiting, professional school and job fairs, and much more!
