First Year Seminar |
As a freshman, you will take a First Year Seminar (FYS) during your first semester on campus as part of Mount Union's Integrative Core. The courses from which to choose are both interesting and diverse. In fact, you can preview the 2014 classes online. When you register for Preview in May, you'll be asked to pick your top five FYS choices, so choose wisely!
The small class size in your FYS will allow you to interact closely with a professor who will help you to cultivate a vision for your education. The FYS also will expose you to basic writing, communication and critical thinking skills, among others. Additionally, the faculty member who teaches this seminar will serve as your initial academic advisor during the fall semester and will help you explore the opportunities of a Mount Union education.
