Congratulations Para (Heropoulos '77) Jones
Para (Heropoulos '77) Jones, president of Stark State College, received the Greater Stark County Athena Leadership Award. She is a professional with more than 24 years experience in the community college setting, and she has more than proven her ability to help shape the lives of others through mentoring. Her innovative activities include endowing a scholarship program designed for working mothers. "Women are strong. They are 60 percent of our population, and I give thanks to Athena for helping women accomplish everything they wish to accomplish." (information courtesy of the Alliance Review)

Alumni Association Committees
Assist the Office of Alumni Relations and University Activities further its mission through one of the following committees: Access Alumni (Career), Admissions, Alumni Events, Awards and Nominations, Communications or Reunions. The Executive Board chairs each committee.

Making More Memories Forever Mount. It's officially spring and the final stretch for the Class of 2013! The class is busy writing resumes, deciding what they're going to do after graduation, donating to their legacy (Senior Class Gift) and overall enjoying their last few weeks on campus. Do you remember those days? The overall excitement...the unknown ... starting a new life ... so many emotions! As campus is busy preparing for the upcoming Honors Convocation, SCHOLAR Day and Commencement, one thing remains the same for each class - opportunities! Mount Union is the doorway to the future and the students of today have had opportunities available to them throughout their experience, thanks in part to YOU! Alumni Night with the Tampa Bay Lightning April 117:30 p.m. Alumni and friends in the Tampa Bay area are invited to a night of fun when the Tampa Bay Lightning welcome the Pittsburgh Penguins to town. Plus, everyone who attends will receive a Lightning 20th Anniversary hat. Check the website for more information and how to order tickets. Going Green with Color April 19 8 p.m., Jupiter Studios, 346 E. Main St., Alliance Four students from Mount Union will auction off their photographs to help inspire you to go green but with color! The funds raised will be going to Trees, Water & People. Following the auction, local bands will take the stage at 8 p.m.
National Day of Service

The National Day of Service is an opportunity for Mount Union alumni and their families plus parents of current students across the country to come together to show their volunteer spirit!

The sixth annual SCHOLAR Day features a full day of presentations and poster sessions showcasing academic excellence and scholarly research at Mount Union. There are three sessions with three presentations per session. Approximately 40 amazing students are involved. We invite you to come to campus for one or all of the sessions. A lunch in offered for $6 in the tent behind Kolenbrander-Harter Information Center (known as the Academic Mall).

Class of 1963 50th Class Reunion
May 10-11
Members of the Class of 1963 are invited back to campus to socialize, tell everyone what they've been doing for the past 50 years and tour campus. Mount Union Magazine - Issue I, 2013 You should have recently received a hard copy of Mount Union Magazine In Brief, but you can always read the magazine online. In this issue, you'll learn about our new Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, growing programs on campus and Robert T. White donating an art collection to the University.
Mount Union Participates in NCAA Division III Week
The University of Mount Union will celebrate NCAA Division III Week from April 8-14, 2013. The Division III level is made up of 439 active member institutions and 43 voting conferences. Mount Union has been a member of the Ohio Athletic Conference, which encompasses other institutions such as Baldwin Wallace, Heidelberg, Marietta and Ohio Northern, since 1914. Division III schools compete under the principle that the academic performance of student-athletes should be consistent with the general student body.
Congratulations Rocky Laughlin '05!
Rocky was named the Federal League Wrestling Coach of the Year for 2013! He is the head wrestling coach at Jackson High School in Jackson, OH. At Mount Union, Rocky was the two-time Ohio Athletic Conference champion at 133 pounds in 2003 and 2005.
Raider Tank Participants Compete for Cash Prizes
The University of Mount Union's entrepreneurship program held the Raider Tank contest on-campus. Based off of the hit ABC show Shark Tank, Raider Tank gave motivated entrepreneurs the chance to pitch their business ideas or products to a panel of judges, fondly known as "sharks." All of the "sharks" were Mount Union graduates with entrepreneurial backgrounds.
Students travelled to Germany over Spring Break
"The purpose of the trip was to give students, especially those who are not German majors, an exposure to Germany and German culture that is different from what popular culture tends to portray," said Dr. Mark Himmelein, professor of German at Mount Union.
Students Serve in Dominican Republic
So 12 students, two professors and a journalist walk into a foreign country. They're equipped with Spanish, vaccinations and sunscreen, but nothing can ever fully prepare you for what you'll get in a developing nation.
