Dear friends of NYNY,

April has been a spectacular month for New York Needs You! Our Young Leadership Board hosted a successful Spring Fundraiser, we held our Interview Day for our next class of Fellows and Mentor Coaches, and we celebrated our 2011 Fellows at their graduation. Congratulations to our 2011 Fellows for two years of hard work, growth, learning, and leadership. The 2011 Fellows join the alumni ranks of our 2010 Fellows; we look forward to their achievements in the coming years. We thank our 2011 Mentor Coaches for making and fulfilling their commitment to our Fellows. Without their time and effort, our program and its successes would not be possible. In May, we will announce our 2013 class of Fellows and Mentor Coaches. We are excited for them to join our community and build on the accomplishments of our prior classes.   

I want to thank Gabrielle Gazzola, who will leave NYNY at the end of this month to pursue a career in medicine. We are thankful for all that she's done for the program and Fellows. I'd also like to thank Tamyra Hunt, who will leave New Jersey Needs You and relocate to Los Angeles. Tammy was instrumental in building the New Jersey Needs You Fellows Program, and we wish her the best in her future endeavors.  

Please join me in welcoming our newest staff member, Sara Williams. Sara joins NYNY as a Development Coordinator. She will help with individual and institutional giving, as well as event planning. Sara is nearing the completion of her MPA at New York University, and has interned at the New York State Health Foundation, NYU Langone Medical Center, and Pathways to Housing. Prior to graduate school, she worked as a television news producer for several years after earning BA degrees in Broadcast Journalism and International Relations from the University of Southern California.
