Parents and Students,
Halloween is upon us and the holiday season has officially begun. The first nine weeks are completed and the students had an outstanding showing in their Academics, Athletics, and Community Service Activities. I am sure when their report cards come home on November 13th, there will be cause for celebration. Our Boys and Girls Basketball Teams made it to the county playoffs and had an outstanding season. Our students and faculty are giving back to the community through raising funds for Breast Cancer Awareness and Strides for Education, as well as collecting non-perishable goods for those in need at Metropolitan Ministries.
I want all our students and families to be safe in the streets on Halloween Night. We look forward to sharing in the many exciting upcoming events here at school and within our community.
Yours in Education,
Mike Hoskinson

Hello!
There are times I am asked why I send my children to Coleman. I always point to the A+ rating, the study skills my children acquired and the commitment of excellence by the faculty and staff. But what truly sets our school apart from so many, is our amazing parents who volunteer their time and/or treasure. You are the reason our school is exceptional.
Two weeks ago, we asked for volunteers to assist with the ESE Halloween Parade. The outpouring of support was awesome! Very special thanks to Joella Clanton, who along with Lucy Pullara organized the day. And to all of the parents who donated items, and manned stations. Our BIONIC students were a huge help setting up the games and Tropical Smoothie helped to provide tasty treats for the kids.
In addition to the ESE parade, thank you to Joanne Bryant and the Staff Appreciation committee for completing the first "Germ Out." Nothing like a clean classroom to keep absentees down!
Coleman and our students are so fortunate to have such a committed community! Thank you!
Best,
Jen Carlstedt

Do you know where your PTSA dollars go? One place is right back into the classrooms through Coleman's Mini-Grants.
Mini-Grants are requests written by our Coleman Teachers/Staff on specific things that they feel they need in order to enhance either themselves or our kids educational experiences while at Coleman. These are all PTSA funded through donations from both our Business and Family Sponsors.
We thought you would like to hear where some of the PTSA monies have been spent so far this school year!
- Pedometers for PE
- Sent our 2 counselors to the FSCA Conference
- Supplies for ESE
- Book for Social Personal Class
- Online access to MATCH-ADTC program
- 700 Reading Counts Licenses
- Supplies for Best Buddies
- Supplies for National Hispanic Heritage Celebration
Stayed tuned for more Mini-Grant recipients in your upcoming Coleman Chronicles.

Bake Sale is a sweet way to support the Coleman Band! The Coleman Band Boosters are holding a Bake Sale during the Cobra Block Party on November 12 to raise funds for our students' music program. After you've enjoyed a great food truck dinner, stop by our table, located outside the Coleman Cafeteria for dessert!
Donations of individually-wrapped, ready-for-sale baked goods are requested of band parents. Please drop off your items any time during the day of the event in the Band Room or bring to Bake Sale table that evening.

The Faculty Honor Roll is a program at Coleman that allows families to recognize dedicated teachers, administrators, staff members, coaches and counselors who work with our students each and every day. If your family has made a donation this year to the Coleman Family and/or Coleman Business Sponsorship Campaign in any amount, you can designate the faculty members you would like to honor with this award. They will receive a handwritten note from the committee with your personal message; delivered with a special treat. Further communications will be going out soon to those who are eligible to participate in this special benefit.
What a great way to let faculty know they have made a difference in your child's success at Coleman!

This year we have a mission to
"Can the Principal"
The Student Government Association (SGA) will be collecting non-perishables for Metropolitan Ministries during the months of November to December through their homerooms. Metropolitan Ministries is an organization in downtown Tampa whose primary goal is to help people in need. It is an honor for the SGA to continue this tradition.
Our goal is to fill the Administrators' offices with needed supplies, and fill it we will!
We are collecting:
1. Any canned or jarred foods and cereals.
2. Toiletry items, to include, but not limited to, shaving cream, body soap, q-tips, etc.
3. Any baby supplies or toddler supplies to include diapers, baby power, etc.
***Please make sure you check ALL expiration dates on these items PRIOR to sending them in.
To make "Can the Principal" more interesting, the SGA with the support of Mr Hoskinson, have decided to make it into a competition. The leading homeroom will get to have a pizza party during lunch with Mr. Hoskinson on Wednesday December 16. The Second and Third place homerooms will get to have a breakfast party hosted by Mr. Pechacek and the SGA Leadership.
What do you have to do to win??? Points will be awarded according to the following donation criteria:
* 1 point for each individual item; canned food, shaving cream, baby powder
* 2 points for each box of cereal
* 3 points for each box or bulk item; diapers, body soap, toothbrushes, etc.
Once again, thank you for your participation and assistance with the SGA!! If you have any questions, please email me.
Sincerely,
Mr. Pechacek
