National Library Week
Food Drive

Sunday, April 10 to Saturday, April 16
The theme for National Library Week this year is "Libraries Transform." We're transforming our community by participating in Share's Food Pantry.

Food Drive Bring in something to support the Food Pantry at Share of Milford and we will remove your fines.

The Food Pantry at Share needs peanut butter, canned tuna, canned chicken, cereal, juice, pasta, sauce, Italian seasonings, soups, side dishes and non-food items such as deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste and toilet paper.

Cans, boxes or bags of products can not be damaged in any way or past their expiration date. Lost & Damaged library items are not eligible for this program. Patrons must present their Library Card and donation at the Circulation Desk in order to receive credit for their donation!
Asus Notebooks, Lenovo Thinkpads, and iPads
The Library has recently acquired three Asus Notebooks and two Lenovo Thinkpads to add to our collection of circulating iPads. These can be used in the library for longer projects, taking tests, use in meetings, using Microsoft Office, Skyping, and browsing the internet.

You will need a library card, and they can be checked out for 2 hours at a time for use inside the library.

Satisfy your curiosity today!

taxes
The Wadleigh Library is an official Tax Form Repository. We will provide forms as we receive them from the federal and state government. Forms can also be printed from the IRS website at www.irs.gov.

Since 1968, AARP Tax-Aide volunteers have helped nearly 50 million low- to middle-income taxpayers, many of whom are aged 60 or older. Tax-Aide volunteers (IRS Certified) are trained to assist with filing the 1040 Form and the more standard of the schedules, including Schedules A and B. Electronic filing (e-filing) is offered at the Wadleigh Memorial Library site, with no charge to the taxpayer. E-filing ensures more accurate tax returns and faster processing of tax refunds.

Becoming Wolf: Coyotes in Eastern New England
Thursday, April 21
6:30 p.m.
The program focuses on the eastern coyote's ecology and behavior and how hunting may actually be a more rapid evolution toward wolf!

Beginning in the early 1990's, Chris Schadler taught Conservation Issues, Dendrology and Wolf Ecology at the University of New Hampshire, receiving many teaching excellence and student recognition awards.  She continues to instruct and mentor adult degree candidates in the UNH System at Granite State College.

While wolf recovery was the focus of her early work, Chris' attention shifted to the Eastern coyote when she moved to New England.  She chose a farm with coyote problems to see if she could raise sheep and train her border collies.  Using sound livestock management and common sense, she avoided any predation for over two decades.

Location: Milford Town Hall Banquet Room. Please use the entrance on Middle Street and take the elevator to the 3rd floor.

This program is funded by a generous contribution from the Richey Family.

Each session can stand alone, and yet each advances in learning for those who attend more than one. Come to one, or come to all!
