Equilibrium: The Road to Publication
Tuesday, November 5 7 p.m.
In Lorrie Thomson's debut novel, Equilibrium, a young widow and her fifteen-year-old daughter cope with the aftermath of loss and mental illness.
During Lorrie's twelve-year journey to publication, she completed three novels and racked up approximately two hundred and fifty rejections, every one of them a badge of honor. She attended conferences, entered contests, and pitched to agents and editors. To learn the secret to Lorrie's perseverance, she invites you to stop by the Wadleigh Memorial Library, the place where her journey began.
Copies of the book, Equilibrium, will be available for purchase and signing.
Lorrie Thomson lives in New Hampshire with her husband and their children. When she's not reading, writing, or hunting for collectibles, her family lets her tag along for camping adventures, daylong paddles, and hikes up 4,000-footers. Though Equilibrium is fiction, Lorrie had the very real experience of coping with mental illness in her own family when her oldest son was diagnosed with schizophrenia while she was writing the book. For support and education regarding mental illness, she recommends that readers visit NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

For those children who cannot yet read on their own, parents & caregivers are invited to read with their children. In order to guarantee your spot, you must register for each session.
