New eBook Service Launched
Your Wadleigh Library Card gives you access to audio and eBooks on your mobile and eReader devices.
 Recently, we've welcomed the addition of 3M Services to our online catalog. This new service provides more eBook titles for you and makes downloading eBooks to your device an easy process.
Please speak to a library staff member for more information about these services and compatible devices or visit www.wadleighlibrary.org and search our library catalog for '3M'.

National Library Week
April 14 - 20, 2013
Celebrate the place where communities matter and visit your local library during National Library Week, April 14 through 20. Libraries are our nation's great information equalizers. From leveling the playing field for job-seekers to story hours and family game nights, libraries offer free, fun, and educational resources for everyone.
This year's theme is "Communities matter @ your library," reminding all Americans that the library can help you and your family discover a new and exciting world through collections, digital resources and more.

AARP Tax Aide
Ends April 11
Free Tax help will be available at the Wadleigh Library from February 5th to April 11th. The hours will be the same each week:
Tuesdays - 9:30am to 2:00pm
Thursdays - 4:00pm-6:30pm
Appointments are not required.
The Wadleigh Library is an official Tax Form Repository. We will provide forms as we receive them from the federal and state government.
Since 1968, AARP Tax-Aide volunteers have helped nearly 50 million low- to middle-income taxpayers, many of whom are aged 60 or older. Tax-Aide volunteers (IRS Certified) are trained to assist with filing the 1040 Form and the more standard of the schedules, including Schedules A and B. Electronic filing (e-filing) is offered at the Wadleigh Memorial Library site, with no charge to the taxpayer. E-filing ensures more accurate tax returns and faster processing of tax refunds. |
Acoustic Cafe Peter and Mary Alice Amidon

Peter and Mary Alice Amidon are versatile and widely respected performing and teaching artists who for
 the past twenty years have dedicated themselves to traditional song, dance and storytelling.
Doors Open @ 7 PM ~ Performance @ 7:30 PM ~ Admission is Free! The Acoustic Café is a library-sponsored program showcasing regional acoustic musicians. Open to the public, it is held the 3rd Saturday from October thru April in a smoke-free intimate environment. The Acoustic Café is also supported by the Friends of the Library. All proceeds from coffee and refreshment sales benefit the café and the library.

Ben Kilham on Black Bear Behavior

Ben Kilham, New Hampshire's only bear rescuer and rehabilitator, comes to Milford to talk about black bears and their behavior.
Normally in winter he takes in 3 to 5 orphaned black bear cubs and cares for them in his eight-acre enclosure in Lyme, but this year he has taken in more than twenty cubs. He will work with the state Fish and Game Department to release them to remote locations this spring. Kilham has been studying bears for more than 20 years, has produced and appeared in numerous documentaries, and has written two books about bear social behavior.

Read to a DOG? Not just any dog....
Certified Therapy Pets are a wonderful way to encourage reluctant readers and children having difficulties with reading to become more confident in their ability to read. The use of Therapy Pets in hospitals, rehabilitation centers and nursing homes has been shown to decrease anxiety, lower blood pressure and promote relaxation; the same premise applies to children with reading difficulties.
For those children who cannot yet read on their own, parents & caregivers are invited to read with their children. In order to guarantee your spot, you must register for each session.
Registered children should arrive during the advertised time span and will read to the dog of their choice for approximately 15-20 mins. |

Come join Miss Trina for some artistic fun! We will briefly study the works of a famous artist and then start a project based on their style. During this session we will be studying some of Georgia O' Keefe's florals and doing a flower painting of our own. You may want to have your child wear a smock or old t-shirt as we will be working with paint. For students in grades 2-5.
