A Great Day Houston!
Over 200 Houstonians took a stand against obesity for Get Fit or Get Fat 's One-Year Anniversary and Charity Event. The fundraiser celebration was hosted by Radio-One personalities, JJ on the Mic ( 97.9 The Box) and KG Smooth ( Majic 102.1) and featured Love and Hip Hop star, Somaya Reece, as the guest speaker. READ3Zero Turns Five!
 This fall, the READ3Zero Literacy Foundation will host the I Write Book Signing Luncheon November 1, 2014 at the Hilton Americas featuring keynote speaker Andrea White. READ3Zero believes that creativity and imagination are natural gifts of childhood, which is why they encourage children to read 30 minutes a day and join the R3Z book club and enter their annual short story contest, I Write Short Stories by Kids for Kids. Since 2009 they have published over 200 kids in their anthologies. The deadline to apply for the contest with a chance to participate in this anniversary celebration is May 1, 2014. Lemonade Day is a free, fun, experiential learning program that teaches youth how to start, own and operate their own business - a lemonade stand. It began right here in Houston, Texas in 2007. Since then it has grown from 2,700 kids to over 57,000 kids in Houston.
