Robin Roberts Named Keynote Speaker for the MLB Beacon Awards Luncheon as a part of the 2014 Civil Rights Game
Robin Roberts, co-anchor of ABC's "Good Morning America," will be the keynote speaker at the Beacon Awards Luncheon, where Dr. Maya Angelou, Berry Gordy and Jim Brown will be honored, as part of the series of events for the 2014 Civil Rights Game, co-hosted by the Houston Astros. Additionally, singer/songwriter Aloe Blacc will perform one song and, in the spirit of the event, Grammy Award-winning violinist and UN Goodwill Ambassador Miri Ben-Ari will perform her song "Symphony of Brotherhood," featuring Rev. HYPOXI Houston Spring Fling featured on Culturemap
This week, Caroline Marache of HYPOXI Houston provided a tour and demonstration of the HYPOXI studio followed by a Q&A to briefly discuss the benefits of the HYPOXI machines and offer an introductory package of six sessions. Change Happens! Celebrating 25 Years
Since 1989, Change Happens!, has grown from 1 program to over 18 programs, with a staff of over 50 employees. In 2001, Change Happens! received recognition from the Texas State Legislators for outstanding performance in providing application assistance to uninsured families in Harris, Fort Bend, and Brazoria Counties. The agency has been awarded numerous certificates of achievement from the Department of State Health Services. Change Happens! has also been chosen by other state and federal officials to provide on-going assessment, training, and technical assistance to other start-up, non-profit agencies seeking to build capacity.
