Gateway Green Crowdfunding Gets Serious Traction!

Wow! in just a little over two weeks, the Gateway Green crowdfunding campaign has raised over $66,000, 2/3 of the way towards the $100,000 goal!  And with almost 500 individual contributors, the campaign is demonstrating the wide range of support for Portland's first outdoor bike park. And if that weren't enough, both the City of Portland and Multnomah County recently passed resolutions designating October 1st Gateway Green Day!  In recognition, Hopworks on Powell will host an event celebrating this landmark next Tuesday from 4-6pm, so come on buy, have a beer and a burger, and learn more about the project.  Other exciting news:
  • Double your donation! - Western Bikeworks announced a dollar for dollar match for all donations made through this unique link
  • Friends of Gateway Green will host a  design workshop on Wednesday October 2nd from 4-7 at the Gateway EcoDistrict office.  The project designers, including Chris Bernhardt from IMBA Trail Solutions, will be available to answer questions and get your input on what kinds of features you'd like to see in the park.
  • On Friday, Kaiser Permanente stepped up big time, announcing a $10,000 donation toward the cause, taking us over the $66k mark.  Thanks Kaiser!
If you have already contributed, Thank You!  If you haven't, the campaign ends on October 7th, so please make your contribution today.  Any amount helps!  More importantly, please help spread the word among your individual networks.  A broad show of support will help reach the goal and ultimately get this park built.

Registered participants will also receive a NWTA glass, stickers and kid helmet if needed.  Please see the Northwest Trail Alliance calendar page for more details and to register.  Cost is Free, thanks to the Port of Cascade Locks, NWTA, Lumberyard, Wenzel Coaching,  Breakaway Promotions, International Mountain Biking Association, Providence Hood River and the Dimwits WithBriteLites.  Go to http://nw-trail.org/2013TKMBD for more details and to Register!

Trailfest was a blast! We hope you all had as much fun as we did and we're so grateful to all our sponsors - Velo Cult, Portland Design Works, Showers Pass, Sellwood Cycles, Cyclepath, and Isla Bikes - and to all our wonderful volunteers who kept everyone's spirits up even through the down-pour at Sandy Ridge. Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate with us and to the bands that rocked Velo Cult on Saturday, Ultra Goat and the James London Band! What better way to wring in the next big build season!
