Free Christmas Parking in Kells
There will be free parking in Kells on Saturday 15th, Fri 22nd, Saturday 23rd and Monday 24th of December
Free short term parking is available on street between 11am - 6pm,
while long term parking is available in the off street car parks.
Spire of Lloyd
The Spire of Lloyd will be open to visitors on Sunday the 30th Dec from 12 - 4pm
Happy Birthday to Pat Barron – 65 Years Young!
Pat Barron from Donegal and his partner Eileen Morgan Brown from Dublin have added greatly to the social and the arts life of Kells. Pat is chair of the Kells Resource Centre where he has inspired others to run amongst other things the Lively Citizens Tea Dances, monthly car boot sales to fund the Centre, etc. He and his builder friends also maintain the Centre in pristine condition. He is also is involved in the Kells Local Heroes and the Cherry Hill Residents Association.
Eileen has raised the level of arts to new heights in Kells as the founder of the successful Kells Arts Club which is in operation for over two years. Recently the Arts Club hosted the Lord Byron Society at the Headfort House. She has brought the very best in the arts to Kells and at the same time put Kells at centre of the arts in Ireland.
Indvidually they are outstanding in their fields but when they combine to organise anything they are dynamic!!

Kells Heritage Park
Work is currently underway to prepare a plan for additional Walking Trails on the 357 acres at Commons of Lloyd. This land is owned by Kells Town Council on behalf of the people of Kells, and is a wonderful resource within easy walking distance of the town. The planning work is being carried out by Kells Heritage Park ltd, a not for profit company set up by local people to open up the land to use by the local Community. There will be further public consultation meetings about this project in early 2013.
Activities for the New Year
Your local LSP here in Meath has been hard at work to ensure that when you make your New Year`s resolution this year to becoming healthier and fitter in 2013 that there will opportunities in place to help and support you with this resolution.
Our new initiative “Operation Motivation” commences with RTE`s Operation Transformation walk in Trim on Saturday 19th January and continues up until the end of April. See website for further details.
Take extra enjoyment out of that slice of Christmas cake knowing that a plan is in place to help you shift it in 2013. Your commitment... just turn up!
