The Royal County 5km
The Royal County 5km is back and ready for the off! Date for this year’s event is Bank Holiday Monday 7th May @ 11am in Kells. So if you haven’t already – put this date in your diary. The Royal County 5km is open to all abilities over 12 years of age, why not make it family outing? (All children must be accompanied on the course by an adult). New to the Royal County 5km this year is chip timing.
This is an AAI licensed event. This year’s nominated charity is the Meath Special Hands Activity group – the Meath Special Hands Activity group is a voluntary based charity which provides opportunities for children with disabilities to participate in sport and physical activity. This Kells based organisation provides a support network across the region for parents of children with special needs.
Cost per entry is 15 euro; all participants receive refreshments, chip timing and technical t-shirt. So whether you are a seasoned runner or just a walker/jogger or whether your target is just to get `round or an attempt on the land speed record there’s a place for you on the start line! Tower of Loyd open Bank Holiday Monday
Members of Kells Archaeological & Historical will open the Spire of Loyd to the public, May Bank Holiday Monday 7th May, from 12-3pm. Climb the 100 ft Tower and enjoy Great Panoramic Views of the countryside on a good day, All Welcome.

KellsOnline has asked for a response from the ESB in regards to what it plans to do with it's derelict property on Farrell street. Failing a response we will be running a poll on whether businesses in Kells should continue to support the provider given their treatment of the town.
Derelict Buildings to be Painted
