David Versel joins Garner Economics as a Principal and Analyst
  
  
ATLANTA, Ga (July 19, 2016) - Jay Garner, President of Garner Economics, LLC,
David Versel
announced today that David Versel has joined the firm's Atlanta office as a Principal and Analyst. Versel is a senior economic development and real estate professional with more than 20 years in the field.
 
Versel comes to Garner Economics with a broad range of professional skills. He will be taking a leading role in the firm's Economic Development Strategies and Site Location Analysis practices and will also expand the firm's capabilities to include Real Estate Advisory Services, Master Planning and Tourism and Cultural Development.
 
Versel's consulting practice has included many different types of projects and scales, including: property-specific studies, small-area plans, jurisdictional-level plans, regional development studies and statewide policy plans. Over the course of his career, Versel has managed more than 200 consulting projects in 29 U.S. states for a wide range of public, private and institutional clients. His major public clients have included the National Park Service, the Minnesota Department of Transportation, the Northern Maine Development Commission as well as city and county governments in more than 15 states. His private clients have included Goldman Sachs, Belz Enterprises, Jacoby Development, Forest City and the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team.

Versel's prior consulting experience includes serving as Senior Vice President with Delta Associates, Principal of Devonomics, an independent consultancy, and an Associate with Economics Research Associates. He has also held multiple positions in the public/nonprofit sector, including: Executive Director of the Southeast Fairfax Development Corporation, Senior Research Associate with the George Mason University Center for Regional Analysis and Senior Planner with the Southern Maine Regional Planning Commission.

Versel is a longtime member of the American Planning Association and holds the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) designation. He has a Master of City Planning degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a B.A. in architecture from Washington University in St. Louis.
