Project Roundup

We've recently completed a diversification strategy for Columbus, IN and the Columbus Economic Development Board.

New or recently started projects include a certified food site analysis for the Clearfield County Economic Development Corporation (PA); a workforce analysis for the Chambers County (AL) Development Authority; in partnership with Younger Associates, an Economic Adjustment Strategy for the Northwest Alabama Council of Local Governments; and, in partnership with the Lochmueller Group, a regional cities strategy for the EDC of Southwest Indiana (Evansville) region.

Garner Economics uses its vast experience in economic development and location advisory to craft strategic action plans for its clients with execution guidelines that are fully implementable. This gives our clients a competitive advantage in a global market. When implemented, these strategies have a history of enhancing a region's quality of place and economic opportunities.

And The Winners Are...

By Jay Garner

The Site Selectors Guild, in which I am one of the founding members, held their annual conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico at the end of February. Over 300 people attended and it was a great success thanks to the host (Puerto Rico Industrial Development Corporation), our many sponsors, and the attendees that participated.

This was our fourth annual Guild Conference and a highlight of the Conference each year is a talent show that we host. It's a chance for our participants and Guild members to do something different and humanizes our event by showing the attendees a different side of both the Guild consultant and the economic development professional. Read more about the Guild Annual Conference by clicking here.

Allen Hester of Dyersburg, TN (L) and Larry Burkhardt (C) of Appleton, WI are shown accepting their award as co-winners of the SSG Annual Talent Show recently held in San Juan. Jay Garner (R) served as the emcee.
