Memorial Day Soccer Challenge
In Honor of
PFC Nicholas A Madaras
The Memorial Day Soccer Challenge is a round-robin soccer tournament held on the Kristine Lilly soccer field at Wilton High School (in Wilton, CT). It starts just after the end of the parade at approximately 11:00AM and admission is free. The tournament features 3 teams consisting of Nick's teammates and friends from Wilton High School who play against the Wilton Ancient Warriors (a 40+ men's soccer team) and the coaches on the staff of Soccer Extreme/ CT Rush.
In addition to the game, there is music, food, raffles and a ball collection (get a free raffle ticket for each ball you donate). Overall it is heartwarming event that pays tribute to a son of Wilton, a student of our schools, an athlete, coach and referee who loved soccer, and a young American soldier who gave his life serving our country.
We hope you can join us for a few hours on Memorial Day as we honor our brother, son and friend Nick Madaras.

I've been to many different places in the world, most recently to Afghanistan, which is desolate, hostile, and overall just a completely different world than anywhere else on earth. Even amongst the violence and high tensions, Nick knew that one thing remains universal, and that is the ability of soccer to unite. The Kick For Nick program has been the medium through which those peaceful goals have been achieved." -U.S. Army Capt. Tom Thresher, Nick's childhood friend and Wilton Blue's official captain, confirms that 20 teammates are on this year's roster with several others coming to support but not play.
