With your help we have distributed 40,301 soccer balls to the children of the world. These children are living in war-torn, poverty-stricken areas with little respite from grinding trauma and a stressful everyday existence.
These soccer balls have brought childhood joy and the freedom to play, laugh and have fun to possibly hundreds of thousands of children who share the balls given in Nick's memory and honor.
Though it is becoming increasingly difficult to send the soccer balls to Iraq and Afghanistan, we continue to send the balls to other locations around the globe where the world's children can benefit from them. Thank you for your continued support.
Many thanks,
Bill & Shalini Madaras

A Letter from Honduras....
|

Mr. Madaras,
I wanted to take an opportunity to say THANK YOU for letting me be a part of your son's legacy. My favorite part of Honduras has been the volunteer work and the opportunities to engage with the community, and the Kick for Nick foundation has been a huge part of that. The soccer balls and jerseys clearly mean a lot to the folks down here, and the act of donating them means a lot to COL Boccardi, myself, and the entire JTF-Bravo team. [...]
Thank you again for the opportunity to be a part of Nick's legacy, I can't begin to count the number of faces he has brightened here in Honduras.
Very Respectfully,
Capt Michael Quashne

Soccer Balls Distributed in Afghanistan
|
from Douglas Cassell:
These pictures are from The Zarifi Village outside of Kandahar, Afghanistan. Kick For Nick shipped several large boxes of balls which we were fortunate enough to deliver to the school children in the village along with school supplies from Cider Mill School (Wilton, CT). Regional Support Command South along with the children appreciated the efforts made by Kick for Nick. Thank you!
Couldn't pump the balls up quick enough!

More Photos from Honduras

Colonel Thomas Boccardi shared these photos from the distribution of the Kick For Nick soccer balls at at the Comayagua Boys Orphanage.
We have received photos of balls being distributed in Yemen & Afghanistan but, regrettably, have been asked not to post them for the security of the local people in the photos.
