Kick For Nick Soccer Ball
Greetings!
38,588 Kick For Nick soccer balls have made their way around the world.  As the US presence in Iraq and Afghanistan winds down, KFN has been sending soccer balls to other war-torn areas as well as to other locations where children will benefit by receiving them.

We appreciate all of your support and thank you for the collections you hold, the balls you send, and your financial contributions.

Many thanks,

Shalini Madaras Brings Soccer Balls to India

In October 2012 Shalini Madaras took a group on a tour of her native land, India. In Chennai they delivered Kick For Nick soccer balls to the "Seed" school (Society for Educational & Economic Development).

KFN India - Shalini

The school provides shelter, food, & education for 271 children from ages 3 thru 18. These are children of murder victims, life-prisoners, leprosy or terminally-ill patients, and prostitutes. The education program includes academics, vocational training & principles based on the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.

KFN Soccer Balls Given to Syrian Refugee Children in Jordan

Shipments of soccer balls to Jordan are helping to bring a semblance of childhood fun to Syrian refugee children. Below is an email from SFC Carlos Dugrot with more details:

>>  ....in Jordan, currently the schools are being used to house Syrian displaced civilians who lost their tents on 9 January due to flooding..... UNICEF emphasized on the need for soccer balls and goals to promote physical activity, minimize children interference with the organizations, and keep them off the streets in the camp. Your donation will have a great impact on the children. .... There is a rough estimate of 25k children in the camp, but your donation will also extend to schools in Jordan who are overwhelmed as well. Thank you sir!

More Soccer Balls Needed for Children of Syrian Refugees - An Email from the Front Lines:
Sir, I was given your email address from a friend of mine currently deployed to Tajikistan. My name is CPT Grant Barge, a Civil Affairs Team Leader currently deployed to Lebanon. Just like Nick, I share a deep love for the game of soccer. I'm currently deployed to Lebanon to help address the Syrian refugee crisis here, currently at over 220,000 now in Lebanon.... I can't think of a better gift, one that will bring total joy to Syrian children, than a soccer ball.... There is such a need here in Lebanon and know that Nick's soccer ball's would be an amazing gift for children in desperate need.  .... I thank you in advance for being willing to help support our mission here in Lebanon....... I can honestly say that every single soccer ball you send here will be distributed with ease. My team will ensure that every ball gets handed out to kids in areas that are overwhelmed with Syrian refugees. Balls, cleats, gloves, jerseys.....anything you send Sir would be so greatly appreciated. You're doing an amazing thing, I'm so blessed and thankful you're including me in this.
Sincerely,
CPT Grant Barge
Civil Affairs Team Leader, Lebanon
