Overview of The Focus Group's Executive Search & Recruiting Process

I. Defining the required competencies & developing or clarifying a position description:

• Utilizing a comprehensive job analysis questionnaire to conduct face-to-face or telephone interviews with the client company's representatives to obtain the position's requirements
• Drafting or clarifying a position description utilizing the information obtained via interviews & the job analysis questionnaire

 II.  Sourcing candidates to fill the vacancy with a quality, high potential candidate

• Verifying the position description developed - as well as hiring salary range, benefits offered, relocation policy, etc. & establish a recruiting timeline
• Developing a Recruiting Search Plan to include the identification of target sources & networks. Search techniques frequently used by TFG include:
  • researching & reviewing candidate resumes within TFG's database & on job boards to which TFG has access
  • sourcing candidates from competitors & similar businesses
  • networking with knowledgeable individuals within the industry
  • advertising within newsletters, trade journals, etc.
  • Identifying & evaluating qualified candidates via:
    • telephone interview pre screening
    • conducting extensive behavioral in-depth interviews with viable candidates
    • Conducting reference checks
    • Discussing & presenting qualified candidates' resumes, interview notes, references & the results of any assessment instruments utilized
    • Scheduling candidate interviews
    • Assisting in negotiating & closing the offer
    • Maintaining post-hire contact with the client company regarding the candidate's job performance
