Life Satisfaction Survey
Last spring, one of our OLLI classes involved exploring satisfaction across the lifespan, and as a result, Jonathon Rauch, Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution, worked with OLLI members on a life satisfaction survey to further investigate the topic.
Mr. Rauch's study is in need of more OLLI volunteers to complete his study, so we would like to invite you to participate by clicking on the survey link below. Your participation is completely voluntary, and all information provided will remain anonymous.
As a second part of this project, if you are interested in being interviewed about life satisfaction, the final online page of the survey allows you to provide your email address and phone number to be considered for selection for an interview with Mr. Rauch.
To read more information about this survey, please click here. |
OLLI Reads
Many OLLI participants are using the OLLI Reads list to share information about their favorite books.
By clicking on the link below, you can open and read the list yourself. Clicking on most of the titles in the list will direct you to Amazon, where you can find more information about the book and a free sample of the book ready for wireless delivery to your Kindle Reader.
Contact Greg Peine at gspeine@comcast.net with your suggestions for additions to the OLLI Reads list.
If you need a free Kindle Reader for your PC, the videos at the links below can show you how to download the program. |
Oscar Contest Winners!
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Oscar Contest! This year's ceremony was one for the history books. On Sunday night, the awards were hosted by Chris Rock, who didn't shy away from addressing the controversial lack of any acting nominees of color for the second year in a row, including a few edgy jokes but reminding everyone of the complexity of the issues of inclusion and discrimination.
Several films were recognized with awards, with the dystopian film Mad Max leading the pack with six. Leonardo DiCaprio won his first Oscar for Best Actor in The Revanant, and the film's director Alejandro Inarrito won the award for Best Director for the second year in a row (last year he won Best Director for Birdman).
Congratulations to the winners of this year's Oscar Contest!
