With OLLI Fall Classes beginning tomorrow, please make note of the following reminders.

We make it easy for you to get to your classes with our park-and-ride shuttle service.  You can either park at Shea Stadium and ride a charter bus to and from campus, or park at Westminster Church on Moss Avenue and ride an OLLI shuttle.  

Shuttle service will begin at 7:30 a.m.

OLLI Shuttles will be available throughout the day to take you back to your car if needed, and for transfers between the Student Center and Westlake Hall.

When you arrive on campus, the buses and shuttles will drop you off at the Michel Student Center, where the registration desk will be on the second floor.  Please be sure to stop there on the first day to pick up your name badge, with a copy of your daily schedule on the back.

While you are there, you can also pick up a copy of the day's announcements, which will include helpful information for the day.

During OLLI Class breaks this Fall, you may be approached by Bradley University
Communications students who are interested in having a casual conversation.

They are working on developing their skills in communication and audience  understanding by engaging in real-life, one-on-one dialogue.

The Study Group Committee meeting that was scheduled for Thursday, October 8, at 2:00 p.m. has been moved up to 12:00 p.m. on the same day.

The meeting will still be held in Peoria NEXT innovation Center, located at 801 N. Main Street.

Larry Swedroe on Investing: Strategies to Improve Your Results

Larry Swedroe is the BAM Alliance Advisor Services Director of Research and has spent his time, talent, and energy educating investors about evidence-based investing. Larry was among the first to publish a book that explained the science of investing in layman's terms. Many investors debate whether we should be content with the same returns as the market at large (i.e. "beta") or whether we should work to beat the market (i.e. "alpha").  Larry regularly reviews the findings from numerous academic financial papers, and he has concluded that it is harder and harder to beat the market, for a number of reasons that he will explain in this lecture. Larry's newest book, The Incredible Shrinking Alpha: And What You Can Do to Escape Its Clutches, was co authored with Andrew Berkin and published in January 2015. Cypress Asset Management will distribute copies of this book to people who register and attend this lecture.
