A Letter From Santa

Hello my friends so dear,

Can you believe that it is October already? With less than two months before the

Jingle Bell Jammies

Christmas holiday, we sure have been busy at the North Pole! What an Elf-tastic time to be a part of the Elf Magic North Pole experience. Ho, ho, ho, with all the excitement and giggles, we can barely keep our Jingle Bell Jammies on!

Do you know that many of our Elf Magic Elves will be making special Halloween appearances this year as well! So, to join in on all the fun, this issue of the St. Nick's News will be dedicated to making All Hallows' Eve super fun and safe for all! From Halloween safety tips to costume, party and snack ideas and Halloween songs, Santa's favorite Elf Magic Elves left no creative stone unturned!

Of course, Mrs. Claus joined in on the fun and began planning one of her fabulous parties to get into the Halloween spirit as well. She is so excited about sharing some of her ideas with you that she added them to the "Elf Magic Celebrates Fall Fun" page as well. She even included instructions from our Elf Magic Fashion Editor on how to create an Elf Magic Halloween costume for yourself. How magical is that! Can you keep a secret? I will be dressing as an Elf Magic Elf myself this Halloween as well. I sure hope I can find a costume that will cover my tummy!

Once you are outfitted in your Elf costume, it's time to polish up on your trick-or-treating tips as well. Elf Zach offers several safety tips for a happy, safe night of collecting treats! Please take these tips to heart, as we all want you to have a safe and Elf-tastically magical holiday!

Also, we would love to see your costume or party photos! We may even feature one of your photos on Santa's favorite website or on our Facebook page, so make sure to keep them coming!

Pumpkin Carving Prayer:

Dear God,

As I carve my pumpkin help me say this prayer:

Open my mind so I can learn about You;
(Cut the top of the pumpkin)

Take away all my sin and forgive me for the wrong things I do.
(Clean out the inside)

Open my eyes so Your love I will see;
(Cut the eyes out in heart shapes)

I'm so sorry for turning up my nose to all you've given me.
(Cut a nose in the shape of a cross)

Open my ears so your word I will hear.
(Cut the ears shaped like the Bible)-we did rectangles

Open my mouth so I can tell others You're near
(cut the mouth in the shape of a fish)

Let Your light shine in all I say and do! Amen.
(Place a candle inside and light it).

(You can pick other Halloween creatures and motions too. e.g. If you're a dragon and you know it give a roar, etc.)

7. Great Pumpkin Is Coming to Town

(To the tune of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town)

Oh, you'd better not shriek,
You'd better not groan,
You'd better not howl,
You'd better not moan,
Great Pumpkin is coming to town!

He's gonna find out
From folks that he meets
Who deserves tricks
And who deserves treats.
Great Pumpkin is coming to town!

He'll search in every pumpkin patch,
Haunted houses far and near
To see if you've been spreading gloom,
Or bringing lots of cheer.

Oh, you'd better not shriek,
You'd better not groan,
You'd better not howl,
You'd better not moan,
Great Pumpkin is coming to town!

Halloween Safety: Tips for Trick-Or-Treaters

Make Halloween Safety Part of Your Elf Magic Holiday Fun!

Elf Zach

Ghosts and goblins and ghouls...oh my! It's that time of year again, when the tricks and treats, they are a plenty! To make sure that you have a safe and fun Halloween, now is the time to get up to speed on your Halloween safety tips as well! Santa has checked the below tips twice to make sure that Halloween will be safe and fun for all. We hope you have an Elf-magically wonderful time!

Carve safely

  • Decorate with markers or paint. Leave the carving for adults.
  • Use candles with care. Or, why not use a flashlight or battery-operated candle instead.

Get clever with costumes

From furry animals to princesses and superheroes, choosing your costume is an important part of Halloween safety. Even better, why not choose to make an Elf Magic Elf Halloween costume this year! See our easy directions below to make an Elf Magic Elf Halloween costume.

  • The brighter the better. Whether you buy a costume or make one yourself, choose bright colors. And use fire safe fabric as well. You can also attach reflective tape to costumes.
  • Size it right. Although our Elves love the frosty temperature, in case it's chilly outdoors, make sure your costume is loose enough for warm clothing to be worn underneath - but not long enough to cause tripping. And, stay away from oversized shoes and high heels. No one wants a skinned knee on Halloween!
  • Skip the masks. Again, avoid tripping by skipping the masks this year as they make it hard for you to see where you are going. Instead, try kid-friendly makeup.

Trick-or-treat with care

We know the promise of Halloween candy may leave stars in your eyes, but Halloween safety still rules.

  • If you are younger than 12, stay close to Mom or Dad. And, tell your Moms and Dads they can also pin a piece of paper with your name, address and phone number inside your pocket in case you get separated. Also, remember safety comes in numbers so always use the buddy system. Why not have a friend dress like an Elf Magic Elf with you?
  • Stay close to home. Always follow the stranger danger rule. Never talk to strangers without your parent.
  • Check your treats carefully. Always let a parent check your treats before you take a bite.
  • Don't eat too much candy. We know you love it, but take it from us; too much sugar will give you a bellyache.
  • Plan a party. Consider planning a trick-or-treat party with a couple of neighbors or friends instead of house-to-house door knocking. You can decorate your garage or home, have a costume contest, and plan games and prizes. We also have some really great party ideas in this issue as well, so make sure you take a look!
