Dinner Auctions Return April 20 & 21
Join the fun and bid on a dinner or event hosted by members and friends of MCCLV. It's a great opportunity to meet new friends as you share a meal together and also help the church as we raise additional funds to sponsor new programs.
Or perhaps YOU would like to offer a dinner or event to be auctioned off. Past events have included pool parties, Hawaiian luaus, dinner cruises and various menu-themed evenings. If you are interested in providing and hosting an event to be auctioned off, then contact Tony Arias (include your name, type of event and/or menu and the number of guests that you can accommodate) by April 19th.
LIVE Auctions will be held following each worship service on April 20th & 21st. Join the FUN! |

Spiritual Development Series
|
Creating a Life that Matters is all about relationships: intentional, authentic relationships - with the Sacred, our Self, and our Passion. CLM transforms lives and inspires people to more directed, clear, passionate involvement in their life and in the life of the planet, through the support of their local MCC.
The Sacred: While many would agree that relationship with the Sacred (God / the Divine) is the fundamental beginning of all faith paths, this transforming experience is often lost when we exchange our spiritual vitality for empty religious practices. In the sessions on Rediscovering Relationship with the Sacred, we explore what it means to be transformed by an encounter with the Sacred, and rediscover loving God with heart, soul and mind.
My Self: As modern people, we expend time, effort and money seeking to understand who we are. In Rediscovering Relationship with My Self, we explore some of the influences that have shaped us, and investigate ways to create a self we will want to live with, others will want to relate to, and God will be able to use in the service of all that is Sacred.
My Passion: Our passions make us most aware of our personal power, energy and joy. Many internal and external factors influence how successfully we manifest these passions in our lives. In the sessions on Rediscovering Relationship with My Passion, we explore ways to manage those factors, and discover what gives us power, energy and joy as we serve the Sacred through church.
Tuition is $50 for the entire series and covers the cost of your 3 workbooks (Sacred, Self, Passion) and all necessary materials. A limited number of partial scholarships are available for those in need of financial assistance.
We are currently in the process of determining if there is sufficient interest (there is a minimum number of students needed to make the class effective) to offer this program again here at MCCLV.
If YOU are interested in Creating a Life that Matters, then click HERE to contact the instructor, Marie Tasker.
The classes will meet on the following dates:
Monday, April 29th / 6:30pm to 8:30pm Saturday, May 4th / 9:00am to 3:00pm Monday, May 6th / 6:30pm to 8:30pm Monday, May 13th / 6:30pm to 8:30pm Monday, May 20th / 6:30pm to 8:30pm Saturday, June 1st / 9:00am to 3:00pm Monday, June 10th / 6:30pm to 8:30pm Monday, June 17th / 6:30pm to 8:30pm Monday, June 24th / 6:30pm to 8:30pm Saturday, June 29th / 9:00am to 3:00pm

Saving Children from Malaria
|
 MCCLVs 2013 Global Outreach Project
Malaria is a leading cause of death and disease worldwide. In Africa, a child dies from malaria every 60 seconds.
Malaria is transmitted by mosquitoes and a simple $5 bed net will protect up to 3 children.
Each year MCCLV seeks to make a difference and to change and improve the world in which we live. This year, we are partnering with the CDC Foundation to stop the spread of Malaria and save the lives of 100s of children.
Our goal is to raise $1500 which will provide 300 nets and save 900 children.
Received to date: $570.07 (114 nets protecting 342 children). Your gift of ANY amount is appreciated towards this goal. $20 protects 12 children $50 protects 30 children $100 protects 60 children
