Online Fall Product Sale Program
The Online Fall Product Sale Program is designed to reach family and friends that girls do not see every day. Like out of town relatives and friends that she is sure want to help her and her troop reach their goals. Girls can register for this and set up their own online store immediately following their troop parent meeting and before the Fall Product Program Sale date of October 1, 2016. The instructions on how to get started can be found here.

There are three different ways parents and girls can access the link for the Online Fall Product Program:
  1. The link can be accessed from our website www.gssef.org and click on the Koala icon on the home page.
  2. They can click on www.girlscouts.qspgao.com/gssef and this will take them directly to the registration homepage of the Online Fall Product Program.
  3. Parents and/or girls can click on the link in the email they receive from QSP.
After sending emails to potential customers, watch the sales come in that help your girl and her troop meet their goals. There is no money to collect or product to deliver. This Online Program is working behind the scenes when the girl begins selling nut and candy items, "Save Around" coupon books and catalog magazine subscriptions, October 1, 2016.

Media Girlz Forming New Team for 2016 - 2017
Does your girl love the spotlight and talking about Girl Scouts? Is she outgoing, well-spoken and not afraid to be in front of a camera? If so, there may be a spot for her on our Media Girlz Team.

We're looking for 10-15 Girl Scouts who ooze courage, confidence and character to be a member of the 2016-2017 Media Girlz Team. Open to Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors, this team of Girl Scouts will be the official girl faces and voices of GSSEF.

Media Girlz is a year-long program that gives girls the chance to be included in various media opportunities, be invited to participate in special events and attend business functions with senior GSSEF staff members and to learn about public speaking, create talking points and practice business etiquette. And of course they'll have plenty of time to shine in front of the camera and have some fun too.

Interested in learning more? Click here to fill out and submit your application to be part of the Media Girlz team. Please make sure you read the participation requirements and expectations at the end of the application and upload a photo of your smiling face. National Stand Beside Her Week:
October 30 - November 5
Created by Girl Scouts Heart of the South, The National Stand Beside Her Movement is a call to action initiative to mentor, support and develop women and girls; to end comparison and competition and create more collaboration and support for one another.

Many Girl Scout Councils, including ours, have signed on to be part of the Annual National Stand Beside Her Movement Week. In the coming weeks, we'll be sharing details on a Stand Beside Her Patch program in E-News. We'll also have additional information on our website and social media on how you can Stand Beside Her.

Leading up to this week and during the week, there will be an effort nationally to call attention to the need to Stand Beside Her and support Stand Beside Her as well as call attention to this initiative to "combine our efforts to change our current culture and ensure that every girl and woman reaches her fullest potential."

Online Program List and Calendar
Be sure to check out our online program listings and calendar here to see all the fun and exciting programs we have to offer.

Program Spotlight

Welaka Winter Wonderland is coming on December 3
Welaka Winter Wonderland brings together Girl Scout volunteers and community partners to share the song, dance, tastes and traditions of winter celebrations from across the globe with our girl members. Global Citizenship and Cultural Competency lessons will top the list of the program's primary outcomes. This festive program will be held at Camp Welaka on December 3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is open to all grade levels.

By incorporating the classic Dr. Seuss tale, "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," we lift up the important messages that ring true for all holiday celebrations. A "grinch" is defined as an "unpleasant person who spoils other people's fun or enjoyment" - and they can be found year round in our world. So, at Welaka Winter Wonderland girls will visit Who-Ville and discover the three take-aways found in the book that we all can learn from: we should always be open to growing your heart during the holidays, holidays are really about the importance of community and friends can come from the most unlikely places!

Registration is open for Winter Wonderland at www.gssef.org

For the fifth year in a row, Girl Scout troops from Martin County created a visual art installation in honor of International Peace Day on September 21. Girls made the Pinwheels for Peace display of colorful spinners out of recycled paper and materials and installed them along the lawn of The Stuart News building on US 1 in Stuart. The girls wrote their thoughts about peace on one side of the paper. Checkout all the fun photos here

Dominique V. of Troop #20391 was proud to be part of her troop's effort to spread the word and raise awareness of peace on International Peace Day. She displayed over 50 pinwheels at both her school and her local recreation center. Dominique also made a morning announcement at her school to let all the students know about the special day and wishing them peace throughout their day.
