Highlights from GSSEF's June 29 Town Hall Meeting -
Now Available!
Thanks to all who attended the Council's recent Town Hall Meeting. There was a very full agenda, which included updates on the Customer Engagement Initiative (CEI), the search for GSSEF's next CEO, the membership dues increase planned by GSUSA, and next steps from the Long Range Property Planning Task Group's recommendations. Attendees asked great questions and we did our best to capture it all. You can find highlights from the meeting, along with the Q&A following each presentation here. The highlights reference details that were included in the presentation. A copy of the presentation can be found here.

Why Participate in the Fall Product Sale Program
October 1 - November 15
GSSEF 2016 Fall Product Program is coming soon. It's an awesome way for troops to start their new Girl Scout year. Troops and girls that participate can earn money for their programs and activities throughout the year. Girls can also earn  rewards. It is intended to reach family, friends, teachers and neighbors.

The Council's Fall Product Sale Program helps girls develop five key leadership skills: goal-setting, decision making, people skills, money management and business ethics.

Why participate?
  • Troops earn early start-up funds
  • Girls earn individual recognitions
  • The funds help our council sustain and expand our programs for girls and volunteers
  • Online option makes it so easy for girls to sell
How much can a troop earn?
  • $1.00 for every Nut/Candy item sold
  • $7.00 for every "Save Around" Coupon Book sold
  • 12% of the Magazine Subscription sale price
  • $2.00 per completed Address Book
Example: If a troop of ten girls participate and each girl sold:
  • 5 Magazine Subscriptions
  • 2 "Save Around" Coupon Books
  • 24 Nut/Candy Items
The troop of ten girls would receive $500 in proceeds.
Troops participating in the 2016 Fall Product Sale will receive $.04 more for EVERY box of cookies sold during the 2017 Cookie Sale.

Back to School Means Back to Troop
It's that time of year when office supply stores are full of parents and students  buying notebooks, pens and crayons to prepare them for a new school year. Don't forget that besides new school supplies, you'll also need all your Girl Scout gear because your next Girl Scout adventure is ready and waiting for you.

To help you get started, the GSSEF Retail Stores are featuring a Back to Troop promotion. Starting August 17 through October 15, 2016, spend $75 or more in-store and receive a $10 Coupon to spend on a $25 or more purchase from November 1 to November 18, 2016*. The $75 purchase can be made in store or online and must be made in one transaction.

A great item to add to your shopping list is a Starter Kit or Essentials Kit that has everything you need to get your Girl Scout year started right. And it includes a super cute drawstring bag while supplies last.

*Please Note: The $10 coupon given out at stores can only be used at the store that issues the coupon. $10 coupon codes that are sent to customers who shop online can only be redeemed online at www.girlscoutshop. Shout out to Troop #20397 and Troop #20699 for collecting items for personal hygiene kits and donating them to Live Fresh. They are still using the toiletries the girls collected and distributing them to the men, women, and children they serve.
