Get Ready for the Great Give - May 3rd, 2016
Great Give Palm Beach and Martin Counties is a 24-hour online giving event led by the Community Foundation for Palm Beach County, United Way of Palm Beach County and United Way of Martin County. It is designed to raise as much money as possible for local nonprofits in a single day. This community-wide event celebrates the spirit of giving and the collective effort it takes to strengthen our community by raising critical funds for local nonprofits.

Once again, GSSEF will participate in this extraordinary day of giving. Help us reach our goal of raising $5000 during this year's Great Give. Every local gift will be multiplied with additional dollars from a bonus pool raised by the Community Foundation.

Save the date of May 3rd to make your donation and look for more information about this year's Great Give for GSSEF in upcoming issues of E-News!

2016 Cookies for the Military Program Surpasses Goal
Thank you to all of our girls, troops, volunteers and parents for supporting our Cookies for the Military program again this year with such enthusiasm.

With your support, we exceeded our goal of 55,000 boxes by almost 4,700 boxes!

Our program continues to support and encourage our military personnel while they are stationed overseas, stateside and even our veterans in hospitals. We are able to do this in partnership with Forgotten Soldiers, Operation Homefront and Soldiers Angels.

Our Cookies for the Military program continues to grow and bring a little taste of home to so many deserving women and men in the military.

You can place food collection boxes in your local churches, synagogues, schools, day-care centers, small businesses, neighborhoods, troop meeting places, grocery stores, and get your entire community involved!

Gold Award Centennial: Celebrating 100 Years of Changing the World!
Over the last century, young women have honed their leadership skills to earn the highest award in Girl Scouts.

While this award has gone by many names-starting as the Golden Eaglet of Merit in 1916 and becoming the Gold Award in 1980-it's always recognized girls who take action to make our world a better place.

To commemorate the Gold Award Centennial, visit one of our retail store locations and choose from a selection of Gold Award Centennial merchandise such as a patch, pin, brooch and more.

For everyone: Gold Award Centennial Patch
The Gold Award centennial patch is considered unofficial and can be purchased and worn by any Girl Scout to commemorate the centennial year of the Gold Award. The patch is to be worn on the back of the sash or vest. However, it will only be available during the 2015-16 Girl Scout year, so purchase yours now!  $6.75 per patch

For everyone: Gold Award Centennial Pin and Brooch
The Gold Award centennial pin and brooch is being treated similar to the 100th anniversary  pin and can be purchased and worn by any Girl Scout to commemorate/celebrate the centennial year of the Gold Award. This pin is to be worn above the official Girl Scout Tab for both girls and adults in the same fashion that the 100th Anniversary Pin was placed. $20 per pin. $30 per brooch.

Girls in Troop #10054 had an awesome time learning to embrace their uniqueness through a  special Mommy and Me painting activity. The girls learned that even though they were painting the same picture, everyone added their own creative and unique details to their pictures of a tree. They enjoyed exploring how to mix paint colors, listening to music and singing while painting too.

Brownie Girl Scouts in Troop #20285 have been busy having fun while working on their Philanthropy Badge and learning how Girl Scouts love making a difference in their communities!
