Kudos to All! Girl Scout Cookie Program is Now Over!
Kudos to our GSSEF family of volunteers, parents and girls! It required a high degree of collaboration and teamwork from everyone to work that extra booth or two, to visit neighbors and to stay positive while girls were having a great time being #cookiebosses.

In the coming weeks, GSSEF will be sharing the results of this year's Girl Scout Cookie Sale Program in E-News. Stay tuned!

Certified Archery Volunteers - We Need You
Our GSSEF Program Team is seeking certified archers to lead the task of completing a full archery equipment overview and inventory. To ensure the equipment is efficient and safe, we would like to work with key volunteers to help us identify any repairs that the beloved equipment may need. If this is something you would interested in assisting with, please contact Lammy Askar at aaskar@gssef.org by April 1st to be part of this work group.

The Honda Classic - Birdies for Children through February 24
We are partnering with The Honda Classic to offer you a chance to win a 2016 Honda automobile while helping GSSEF at the same time. Please join the Birdies program with Girl Scouts as your benefiting charity and let's all have some fun with The Honda Classic!

The Birdies for Children program is a way for charities to benefit from The Honda Classic. We obtain pledges of $20 or more and those donors earn an opportunity to guess the number of birdies made during The Honda Classic, with 110% of the pledge amount going directly to Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida.

IMPORTANT: Donations must be made by February 24th!

RSVP: Annual Council Meeting, February 27
GSSEF will hold its Annual Meeting on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Oakland Park Service Center. All girl members over the age of 14 years and all registered adult members are welcome to attend this meeting as visitors. There is no charge to attend. The meeting starts at 10 a.m., with registration and a light continental breakfast beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Exciting things are underway at GSSEF and we can't wait to share more with you that morning. Our Council has just begin our transition to the Girl Scouts Customer Engagement Initiative (CEI), which is designed to enhance the volunteer experience. It includes the creation of a robust volunteer web platform, database system and user-friendly toolkit focused on strengthening our recruitment and retention efforts and providing volunteers with many of the tools to help them as they bring Girl Scouting to life for our girls. We look forward to sharing more about our process and our timeline following the business meeting on February 27.

Can't make the meeting? Watch for more information about CEI coming soon to your email inbox.

RSVP for the Annual Meeting by contacting Gina Deighan at gdeighan@gssef.org.

Get Ready for World Thinking Day 2016
Each year on February 22, World Thinking Day, girls participate in activities and projects with  global themes to honor their sister Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in other countries. World Thinking Day not only gives girls a chance to celebrate international friendships, but is also a reminder that Girl Scouts of the USA is part of a special network of girls that stretches across the world.

Girls can participate in grade-level activities and earn their World Thinking award too.  You can purchase the award in the retail store for $1.50.

Adult Recognition Award Nominations are Now Being Accepted.
The time is here when we ask our membership to nominate amazing volunteers who have gone above and beyond for our girls. The significance of our volunteers' time, efforts, talent and dedication cannot simply be measured in years of service, but by the impact on the girls whose lives are enriched by the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Learn more about the nomination process here.

Start thinking of who you can nominate today. The deadline to submit a nomination is March 15.  Questions? Email adultrecognition@gssef.org.

I Can't Wait for My Next Girl Scout Adventure!

We'd Love to Give You a Shout Out
Do you have photos from your troop or service unit activities that you would like to share? We'd love to give you a shout out. To submit them, complete this short form here.

Shout out to Troop 20757 for helping to collect and send bottled water to the residents that  have been affected by the Water crisis in Flint Michigan. Their participation in the water for Flint project is helping Shiloh Family Worship Center fill an 18 wheeler truck with water to deliver to Flint.

These Girl Scouts enjoyed collecting the water, but most of all learned that not only does their helping others make a difference; it also impacts the lives of people in a significant way.

Troop 20876  is just wild about Girl Scouts. They wore their super-cute troop t-shirts on their  first trip to Manatee Lagoon. How fun!
