GSUSA to Implement Price Increases on Core Girl Scout Merchandise
New prices go into effect July 1, 2015

In an effort to provide good value and fair prices to our membership, GSUSA has held retail pricing on core products for several years, despite increasing costs from vendors and rising labor and materials costs. In fact, uniform prices have stayed the same since 2011. GSUSA has absorbed the increased costs, but finds they are no longer able to do so. As a result, prices will increase on core products such as uniforms, insignia and earned rewards, beginning July 1, 2015.

There will be no increase on Journey books, Girls Guide to Girl Scouting binders and several other core items. There will also be no price increases on current non-core merchandise at this time. Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida has no plans to raise prices on non-core, Council-branded merchandise.

As always, GSSEF is here to support your Girl Scout experience. Your support of our retail operations helps ensure that Girl Scout programs will be available for many years to come.

For any questions, please contact our Retail Store Manager, Jodi Potter at 561-427-0197.

Feeding Florida Together Results

Over 1,200 girls participated in April's council-wide community service project, Feeding Florida Together Food Drive. All together the girls collected and donated close to 10,000 pounds of food during the month of April. The food donations helped to replenish community food pantries and programs. This is such a great accomplishment. The participation patches will be mailed out in late June so keep an eye out for them.

I Can't Wait for My Next Girl Scout Adventure!

Troop #20810 was amazed by all the things they learned about dolphins during their visit to the Dolphin Research Center in the Keys. These girls were thrilled to have had a chance to give the dolphins a good back rub too. The troop chose to use their Girl Scout Cookie Sale proceeds for this educational trip.

Troop# 10717 visited CarMax in Pompano Beach as part of  their Driving My Financial Future/Buying Power badge work. Not only did they learn how to comparison-shop for a car, but how different features can add to the overall cost, and how to factor safety features into the car buying process. The girls also took a pledge to Not Text while driving as part of TheHumanityProject.com/icare.
