GSSEF Winter Break:

Council Service Centers and Retail Stores will be closed December 24 - January 4   

The winter break is quickly approaching, and we wanted to provide you with information regarding council and staff availability. Council Service Centers and Retail Stores will be closed December 24, 2014 - January 4, 2015. We will re-open on January 5. If you need any items from the service centers or the stores, please be sure to make those arrangements prior to December 24. Also, please note that staff will be off during the winter break. Please submit all documentation for troop travel, volunteer approval, etc., no later than December 10 to ensure it is received and reviewed prior to the break.

The 2015 Girl Scout Cookie Sale Program is almost here!

This year's theme is There's Something Amazing Inside.

The 2015 Girl Scout Cookie Sale introduces a new cookie... Rah-Rah Raisin and for the first time, we will be piloting a gluten free cookie Toffee-tastic! on a limited basis. Through the Girl Scout Cookie Program, a girl can find amazing ways to help others and make a true impact in her community and far beyond. She'll show you how amazing she really is! Can you believe we'll be celebrating 10 YEARS OF MADNESS! That is, Mall Madness 2015. Get ready for even more crazy fun at this one-of-a-kind program. It's Madness all night long at Coral Square Mall in Coral Springs on February 28 - March 1. Not only can you shop at participating stores (and there's new stores), there are fashion challenges, talent shows, a live DJ and music, dancing, crafts, face painting, video contests and much more! Cookie University - January 10, 2015  
Now's the time to register for our annual Cookie University on January 10, 2015. Cookie U will be held at two locations (Stuart and Hollywood) on the same day and is open to all Daisy, Brownie, Junior and Cadette Girl Scouts. Both troops and individual girls can attend. Come for the girl-centric business sessions in marketing and finance - share amazing ideas - get inspired - and graduate with your degree in Cookie Awesomeness.

This program will include the following activities: Try the Science - Forensics; Reveal Reality -  Impressions and Observations - Hiding in Plain Sight; Investigate Investigation - The Art of Printing:  Figure, fish, and leaf printing; The Art of Detection Design; Follow the clues to solve a real mystery. The girls have been decoding clues and receiving coded messages, now it's their turn to capture the Mysteries of the Deep! Now it's time to vote on the badges.  
The votes are in! Outdoor Recreation will be the theme of the next set of Outdoor Badges - one each for Brownies through Ambassadors. Chance drawing tickets are now available for this beautiful emerald and diamond ring donated by Diamante Atelier. The ring has been appraised at $21,675.00 and contains a 1.99 carat emerald and .9 carats of diamond. The emerald is a natural stone and is GIA Certified.  

 

Winning tickets will be drawn at the Emerald Awards event on Saturday, March 14th. The winner does not need to be present.

We invite you to stop by and visit one of our retail stores for a variety of holiday gift giving ideas.  Our retail store staff is happy to help you find that perfect gift. The candles and dolls have an expected arrival date of December 15.  

In addition, we are expecting the arrival of an assortment of yummy-scented Yankee Candle Girl Scout Cookie candles (footed tumblers and apothecary jars) and car refresher jars. They'll be available in Thin Mints, Trefoils, Samoas and Tag-along fragrances. These make a wonderful gift for leaders, volunteers and anyone else that loves Girl Scout Cookies and candles.

And for that special Brownie or Junior Girl Scout or troop leader, we will also be featuring a collection of 15 inch soft Brownie and Junior dolls.

Presidents Volunteer Service 2014 Award president
GSSEF offers the opportunity for our members to earn the President's Volunteer Service Award. This prestigious national award is given by the President of the United States and honors our members who have demonstrated a commitment to volunteer service. Adults, girls and troops can earn this award. GSSEF serves as a certifying organization for the award and the window is now open to submit your hours. Please click here for instructions on how to submit your volunteer hours for 2014. The deadline to submit your hours is February 1, 2015, so don't delay!
