GSUSA'S Free Being Me PSA Contest

As part of GSUSA's Free Being Me PSA Contest, girls are invited to create Public Service Announcement (PSA) videos that show what they think beauty is and that celebrate the qualities that make them unique! We want them to tell the world why it's important to love themselves, including their physical appearance and the things that make them stand out as a person. The winner of the Free Being Me PSA Facebook contest will win an iPad Air (16GB). Teamwork is always encouraged, so groups of 5 or less will each be eligible for an iPad! Girls must be 13 and older to submit videos on Facebook. Submit PSA entries by August 31. To learn more, visit

Inaugural Gems of STEM  Luncheon

Thank you to all of those who participated in our Inaugural Gems of STEM luncheon on Saturday, May 10th. We had a wonderful time honoring four St. Lucie County women who have excelled in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. The four women honored were: Tracy Griffin, Dr. Llanie Ranzer, Patricia Roebling, and Sophia Wilberscheid. And the first ever Julie Jackson Leader Award was also presented to Girl Scout Troop Leader, Dawn Barrow. The afternoon was complete with keynote speaker, Dr. Edie Widder and a wonderful silent auction that included baskets donated by local Girl Scouts.
